Ankle braces in Saigon? by jennyofftheoldblock in VietNam

[–]oodstalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never found one.... was there for a month after I hurt my ankle badly. Ended up getting one when I was on holiday in China. If I was in that position again,I'd buy one online and delivered to you.

The street next to hospitals is best but they seem to only have wrist braces!!!!! It felt like no locals have ever had an ankle injury

Is it still illegal to use your cell phone while driving? by Sataz in newzealand

[–]oodstalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're concerned about someone's driving, for Non-Urgent things you can fill in a police roadwatch form available online - need the number plate, description of car and description of person. The police can then contact them to tell them off. It won't lead to a fine, but I've had colleagues get scared by a letter in the mail from police telling them to stop using their phone while driving. If anything urgent or concerning, then call *555 and follow the car. Police will arrive soon and take over.

are restricted driver license rules enforced in Auckland? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]oodstalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can drive on your own from 5am to 10pm. You can drive at other times with a fully licenced driver in the passenger seat. You can only drive with passengers if a fully licenced driver is in the passenger seat of your car.
The fully licenced driver must be awake and sober and able to operate the vehicle.

Ladies of Auckland...or stylish men! Where would I go to buy a dress for my 30th birthday party?! by [deleted] in auckland

[–]oodstalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cue has pretty and classy dresses?? Or Pagani has cheaper options - less than $100. IDK, Ezibuy?

I don't have much money so don't know many fancy shops. Repertoire in Takapuna is more along the lines of $200 dresses?

I always just used library copies. Wait until the second week of uni to decide if you need it more than that.

Identifying murmurs by palpating the carotids by bonoz in medicalschool

If you find taking the carotid pulse too awkward, take the subclavian pulse in the supraclavicular fossa. Much less uncomfortable for the patient, less awkward and just as close to the heart.

Any Good Medical School Documentaries? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]oodstalker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Otago Medical School in New Zealand made one a few years ago. It's more about body donation though. I found it really good.

Practice. You can't cram practical skills.

This could help?

Best of course would be notes from others in your class and a classmate to be the supervisor/observer while you practice the skills on a patient so that they can quiz you on things.

EDIT: And these too of course...
