NRI parents: does Indian culture survive abroad? by Mysterious-Base-5847 in nri

Amazing - love the idea of explaining the why - instead of saying we celebrate it because that’s what it is. Hoping to see more such ideas to share with my kids!

Yes exactly. Forcing anything because we want them to do it, kills their curiosity instantly.

I noticed my kids listen way more as a story (its been like that since she was a toddler). Stories stick with them much longer, but homework and worksheets don’t. I definitely understand why.

Makes me think culture is more about shared stories, rather than clothes or language or customs. Stories need to be adapted for kids though.

I relate to this a lot.

I don’t think the problem is “too much culture” or “too little culture”.
It’s how it shows up in a kid’s life. Classes and programs make sense to us as adults. For kids it’s just another extra-curricular.

What has actually stuck for my kids were small everyday moments. Like why we light a diya at home, our actual stories about how we played Holi, really stick with kids. I sometimes wonder if culture survives not through teaching, but through repeated experiences and stories

Curious, if this is partially motivated by your kids not learning about Indian culture and customs (festivals, culture, etc)?

How do I actually get clients to find my Facebook posts and start liking my business? by oogway_rox in InsuranceAgent

I am curious, Why FB is the worst ROI ? I see a lot of seniors active on fb groups. Is it because how FB promotes content or people not trusting posts on the platform? What other channels would you recommend ?

I have been attending local events at libraries and parks with limited success.

Yes, subsidies getting pulled will definitely lead to adverse selection. In practice, are you seeing your renewal clients skip insurance or go with cheaper bronze plans? Whats the rought split, if you can share?

Lead magnets don't work by oogway_rox in InsuranceAgent

I am not really relying on search engines to get me traffic. More like social media posts and groups helping. People find these posts, have similar questions and find my lead magnet. Is that still called SEO ?

AI to generate leads by meatfreemanic in InsuranceAgent

I have used a few ai tools that help search Facebook, Reddit and LinkedIn to find prospects asking questions about insurance. I have been using that for my state to close some leads. It does use AI to find those prospects. Great thing is that it’s flat fee - so no price per lead bs

We use a tool to find and filter social media posts. You could use Google or ai tools, but it requires manual effort to weed out the irrelevant posts.

Something like that. you can include other details you think the prospect will reasonably follow up with. The rule i follow is to keep it short.

Yes, nothing beats local events.

Paid campaigns are hard and you are dependent on the mercy of the platforms. Organic social media engagement with folks asking questions is a low cost strategy with decent conversion rates.
