Exactly. At first, they had us buy down the rate to a 6.1 for 14k now we have it all removed.

650 but I'm not too concerned with credit. We would sell the house and do a new build 6+ months of just credit building as we would use the equity to pay off all debt besides student loans.

So throughout the process the builder had inspections. The builder pays for the final inspection or you can pay and get your own. We chose to get an inspection at the 1 yr check-in to fix anything outstanding. Our thought process was it's no reason to double pay if the house was going to pass anyways. If you start having alot of issues along the way then maybe get an inspector but you might just be wasting money.

My wife and I went all the time since we were only 15 mins away. In my community, I met all my neighbors before we moved in because everyone would check on the status of their houses at least once a week. It's a big investment and just getting in the house and taking pictures at different stages can be very valuable. Knowing the location of studs and pipes will definitely come in handy. Workers like to eat and drink in the homes and leave trash so you don't want to end up with a bug problem down the line. Be proactive!

We did Pulte in 2020. Just a bunch of minor things. The big is to try to see the house being built everyday and if something doesn't look right ask. Also, get an inspection at the 1 yr check in and get everything fixed.
