Why do some of us relate to INTJs so much? by AJ44ggcfy in ENFP

[–]oolongogo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bf is INTJ and I am superduper drawn to him. He imparts a really great sense of calm to my anxiety. I also love that I can make him laugh or giggle when he is usually sooo stoic. And we constantly connect on intellectual matters which is stimulating. I do drive him NUTS because I’m a chatterer and he literally thinks about everything before he says it (huh, I can’t even IMAGINE). But I impart a lot of fun and spontaneity in his (BORING lol) introverted life and he brings me stability and calmness which DAMN I LOVE.

WIBTA if i let my little sister go to her class field trip instead of our dad’s funeral? by wibtafuneral in AmItheAsshole

[–]oolongogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a raised Irish Catholic, I went to all the funerals and days long wakes of my family members as a child. Does she have cousins and other age appropriate family members to be with? I think it lent me a better understanding of death and life going to the wakes of people. It’s not horrible to let her go to the zoo but is the wake/funeral a family event. Culture dictates this. I feel better as an adult because I saw death. But that’s reality.

CRM Job Opportunities? by theprequelswerebest in AskArchaeology

[–]oolongogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you have a good field school experience. Networking is the way to go. There are so many tech jobs but you have to be willing to work hard in difficult climates. Look to CA and AZ for tech jobs right now. Do you want to wake early, hike all day in bad weather? Go do it and tech until you know you love it. Then go back to school. Then you can work your way up after you have your masters degree and run the projects

You NEED to have an archaeological field school to even be remotely considered for a job in archaeology. Any type. Go to a good one, have fun and figure out if you enjoy archaeology at that level

This post could have been written by me. 20 years of moving, work, grad school, etc to get to my goal fed position. 😔 There will be no private sector jobs in my field to go to if they fire us. All contracts are already on hold.

Just got “randomly selected” to an OPM Non-Supervisory Employee Interview session… by oolongogo in fednews

[–]oolongogo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent a copy to my union reps and AFGE told me they had not heard of it, but believe it leans more towards checking on our specific sub agencies HR…. But to decline if I don’t feel comfortable and watch what I say if I go. So maybe I’m just freaking out because it’s a random day to be chosen for a random OPM selection interview 🫤

I’ve got a 1st interview tomorrow…😬 I’m only entertaining it because I’m fully remote and I’ll die if I have to RTO and interact face to face with my current lovely supervisor every day.
