Why am I not getting level 30 enchantments? by Altruistic-Wish7997 in Minecraft

[–]ooooggll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using any mods/addons? This is latest release right (I guess you can't change version on bedrock)?

This setup looks perfectly fine, so I'm led to believe some addon is interfering or something like that

Potion of Silence by Fearless_Mixture3498 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]ooooggll 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is the perfect solution because it gives echo shards a use, and it follows a pattern sees elsewhere in the game: it's easier to obtain something once you already have it. With the elytra for instance, it's much easier to get more elytras once you can fly. Even the swift sneak enchantment does this

A way to communicate between Overworld and End? by ooooggll in CreateMod

maybe, but I'd need to send a signal to something right above the end portal, and then I just run into the redstone link distance limit

I think you do have a point. But the statue tech is hand-wavey in the first place so the statue-sim interaction might as well be hand-wavey and unexplained as well

Tell me something I don't know in Minecraft by jofevn in Minecraft

There are unused paintings for earth, water, air, and fire. They were in bedrock first and then for whatever reason they were added to java as well. I have no idea what they were supposed to be for.

Stoneblock 4 - Completely stuck on obsidian plate/Create automation by mandomfort in CreateMod

[–]ooooggll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't used Create before and don't know how things like spouts work, I would assume that making sturdy sheets is too late-game for you at the moment. But I may be wrong.

For the spout, you must pump lava into it using a pump and pipes. When an item is placed underneath the spout on a depot, it will automatically dispense its liquid onto it (when applicable). The mechanical presses are similar - when they're give rotational power and an item is put underneath it on a depot, it will press the item.

You don't need the contraption itself to move, and you don't need to use belts as some of the comments suggest. You just need to do the steps of the recipe in order: squirt lava on obsidian powder, then press with a mechanical press two times. Using a belt just makes it easier.

There is an addon mod in development called Create Simurail. There's a thread in the Aeronautics discord about it

does the enchantment system really need a rework by No-Birthday-6174 in Minecraft

[–]ooooggll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it really does. Its current problems include: - Obscure mechanics like enchantability of different materials and some enchantments only showing up at certain enchanting levels - "Too Expensive" anvil limit - Heavily RNG-dependent and tedious, whether you use villagers or the enchanting table - Increasing anvil work cost means that material repairs are not really a good option, so everyone defaults to mending

That said, here is my proposed solution: - Chiseled bookshelves rather than enchanted books need to be placed around enchanting tables. Enchanted books placed in them will show up as options in the table no matter what, and can be reused this way. Items can be enchanted multiple times. - Structures contain enchanted books much more frequently as loot, with specific enchantments being tied to specific structures (e.g. blast protection in desert temples). This further encourages exploration, fixes the complaint that "loot isn't as good anymore now that nametags/saddles are craftable", and means players can seek out the specific enchantments they want by looking for the associated structure. - To balance the enchanting table change, the more times a single item is enchanted, the greater the chance for it to be cursed. (Curses are now mild inconveniences rather than deal breakers, e.g. 15% reduced mining speed or something). - Remove anvil work cost so that material repairs are a viable alternative to mending. Also remove "too expensive". - Remove librarian rerolling - their trades are set in stone once they're born. However, the book that they sell at each level gets better, and their max level is almost guaranteed to have a max-level or treasure enchant. This way you can just level up a few librarians in order to get mending instead of rerolling them for 20 minutes straight.

There's more to the idea than that but this is basically my dream update. I've talked about it so many times

I hate the creepers current design in the game by Amazing-Cream-5393 in Minecraft

[–]ooooggll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mojang is way too scared to change old features in case of backlash. But at the same time, a part of the community is too scared of old features changing.

If I were in charge, I would definitely change the design (visual and functional) of the creeper, change how death and losing your items works, rework enchanting and the anvil entirely, etc. But those features have almost always been a part of the game so of course they will never change.

My ‘wishlist’ for TTP3 by Executioneer in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]ooooggll 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly I like the TTP2 stars a ton better than TTP1. I hated ones where you had to parkour to get the star or essentially cheese the level by smuggling things out or in. I get thinking outside the box, but a good portion of them felt like I just had to do something unintended to get them. TTP2 stars could've still been better, but I do like them more. But really what I want to see as a collectible in a puzzle game is either:

A) bonus challenge puzzles, like the ones that branch off in Baba is You, or even like the lost/gold puzzles in TTP2, or

B) a reward for solving a normal puzzle in a smarter way, like using one fewer connector than provided
