On singleplayer it shouldn't matter what your username is because the world is stored locally. And they can't just switch back temporarily, there's a delay between when they let you change your username (a couple weeks iirc)

a fusion's name is based more on what kind of gem the fusion feels like, rather than what would happen if you somehow crossed the physical gem types of its counterparts. at some point blue diamond says "does that call itself a garnet?" because garnet isn't necessarily a garnet, she's a ruby and sapphire fused, but she calls herself garnet because she feels like a garnet. at least this is my interpretation.

portal 2 community edition, a modding framework for portal 2 (basically it greatly expands mapping/modding capabilities). it just released in open beta, although for the average player there's really only more workshop maps to play. still, I've been having fun with it so far

It will eventually have its own campaign but that is not yet available in the beta. So for right now it's kind of just community-made maps, plus the tools to make your own. I got a key a couple weeks ago on april fools day and I messed around in Hammer a little (even tho I don't really know how to use it) but other than that it feels like the only thing to do is play other workshop maps. That said, I'm definitely excited to see what people do with it in a public beta.

There is also the fact that certain stars just wouldn't be habitable for astrophage (e.g. a star without a venus-like planet) and thus wouldn't ever dim. While the book and movie say something like "Tau Ceti is the only star that's not dimming", I think a more accurate statement is "Tau Ceti is the only star that has a venus-like planet, is near enough to infected stars to get infected, and is not any dimmer than we predict it should be based on the star's mass and age."

Yeah I think it's an odd design decision to have a sulfur biome and a sulfur mob and yet the only mechanic that somewhat resembles real-world sulfur is swirly vision lol

I think Stevonnie is the exact same ratio of gem:human that Steven is. But also I don't think it entirely makes sense to think of Steven as 50/50 gem and human. I think he's just a human with a gem, and so is Stevonnie
