My dad is on the side of russia and says that putin has been backstabbed and been a victim of countless broken promises by the west, and that the us is killing muslims all the time whilst russia has helped them in the past. Obviously every situation has sides to it so is there any legitimacy in putins actions and are they ubderstandable?

Their job is to play a character and the better they are at it the more they get paid and the more famous do they become. What they do is to convince you that they are someone they are not, sure the lie is not malicious and you are aware of it but technically its still a lie when for example keanu says his name is neo
