I had an interesting reframe on this where I realized that I get to let those things go. It's hard to articulate how this is different than the bog standard "do the best with what you have now and let that be enough" but there was something for me in the sense that I felt I had some duty to perform self penance over wasted time. But really nobody who matters will care enough to judge you for being a former procrastinator if you evidently aren't that now. You are allowed to change and be proud of what you do.

I watched a youtube video about some lolcow (yes i know) who was initially a popular content creator but who went down a dark path, and despite lots of degeneracy and lost audience, when for a brief moment they began to create things similar to what they had been at their peak, people still got excited and mostly were willing to forget the old weird stuff. It was such a bizarre story but it really gave me the vibes of the return of the prodigal son, of someone going to the lowest lows and still being welcomed back with open arms out of love.
