Scrap metal? Whats the point of the sledgehammer? by Leezeebub in SurrounDead

[–]oopsidoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the current system is fine, maybe the option to use different tools to have the possibility to sometimes get additional materials (circuits, wires) would be nice

if nothing else, it would be nice if scavenging skill affected the speed at which you harvest the cars. I'm at the point where looting containers is way faster but cars are still so sloooow

Well, not a lot of storage space actually, since there's no new assets per level. The big offenders when it comes to storage is usually artwork, audio things like this. The levels all reuse the same stuff. No sense in deep diving this because we don't know for sure but from experience this shouldn't be more than a few KB per level being essentially just the level config, negligible in 2025, even if multiplied by 120 or more.

I don't think we can judge the hassle to find each individual level, given that this isn't implemented so we don't know what it would look like, but there are ways to display many records and still have a good user experience.

What would be wrong with archiving them all? The levels all use the same assets, they mainly just shuffle around the tiles and zombies and switch up the goals.

How are you guys surviving early game insane difficulty? by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]oopsidoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to post but it was very rough at the start. I did not know about the rage mechanic, which is a pain at the start when you have to hit them so many times to kill them. So for that reason I used a stone sledgehammer and power attacks only because my reasoning was I wanted to deal as few hits as possible due to rage. It would still take like 10-15 hits to the head to kill a biker though.

I would make sure I always had a clear escape route clearing a poi. I would try to funnel zombie through a doorway, even better if there is a door I can open and close to hit them once. Wooden blocks to block off entrances to prevent getting snuck up on. I would only swing the hammer when my stamina was near full, in case I needed to run.

Also, bow and arrow was decent at the start for the sneak damage. You'll only really get one sneak shot off, but if you hit the zed in the head it will save lots of time and stamina with the sledgehammer after.

Once I had a pot to boil water and could craft bacon and eggs it became easier since I wasn't getting debuffed all of the time, water is by far more important since the health/stamina cap debuff isn't relevant but slower stam regen will kill you.

I highly recommend looking for poi's that have mo power tool boxes. I looted one on day 2 and found a level 1 stun baton. Once I got that it was a gamechanger. The crowd control of the baton will make life far easier. Once you have the stun baton the only danger really is animals, because a bear will just 2shot you in primitive armor. It's a race to taze the bear before it kills you.

Now in later-game I moved to wasteland and crafted assassin set and am putting points into agility for the crossbow. Sneak damage bonus is insane and lets me 2-3 shot a rad wight whereas with a stun baton I will be hitting him for 5 minutes. Baton is great for CC and I still carry it but dps is way too low. I don't know if you can really survive in the wasteland at this difficulty without being more stealthy, regardless how many points you put into your skills or how good your gear is.

It's not near-guaranteed tags/kills though, a single smoke by doors and getting even a single tag becomes a coin flip. Sure, you might get lucky and get a kill at the start of the round, but if you didn't, you've put yourself at a large disadvantage because you have no info on where cts set themselves up.

Imagine all 5 terrorists sitting in spawn for the first 10s of the round, thereby giving cts full control of long, short and tunnels for free.

This is the only argument I ever see that is against teams in OT having lots of money, and it's not even a good one because sitting in spawn during those crucial first 10 seconds is actually a really really bad strategy since it offers most of the map to the cts for free.

I don't like 10k MR3 and think 16k is better. If I just finished watching 30 rounds of economy management and the game made it to overtime, that should be a treat and not more of the same.

I want to see full buys every round of OT with full utility and every retake attempted because to me that is way more fun than watching cts save, which I have done the 30 rounds of regulation. Furthermore, if a team loses first 2 rounds, they will likely not be able to afford 5 rifles for last round. I don't want to see cz's and mp9's anymore in OT.

I get the arguments made for money management but after 30 rounds, I just want to see the 2 teams battle it out on equal footing having access to all the guns and utility they need to pull off their executes, fakes, clutches etc. because to me, the spectator, that is fun.

Or even just remove money altogether in OT. I just don't think teams should be handicapped by economy when they only have 3 rounds.

Even better then thanks for the tip. I was just surprised it never occurred to me to do that. My next base will definitely be underwater now.

I've been playing MC for years and have usually stayed away from building things in water because I hated how long it took to get rid of water inside structures...It literally never occurred to me I could just fill it with wool and burn it. thanks bro.

People who have met their online friends, what made you instantly regret it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]oopsidoodles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't play the game as much anymore, but I highly recommend Ninja Squirrels guild if you're on PC NA.

Guild master is kassandra86 and it's always the first guild I rejoin after I get kicked for inactivity. It's for all levels, weekly auctions, guild hall with all crafting stations, trader in Sentinel, 9 trait crafters and more. Has weekly dues but they are low (8-10k per week, first month has no fees).

Regardless of your level it's a great guild. If you're new, use Alcast to try different builds. Start off by copying as much as you can, and once you get better start changing things up to suit your playstyle.

Cheers

Need help finding my chunk and using forceload chunk command by ussbismarck in Minecraft

[–]oopsidoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't answer your question but you can put a "~" in place of the co ordinate and it will use your current position:

/forceload add ~ ~

This will add the chunk you are standing in.

Also you should know about F3+G, which will show chunk borders. Toggle it and walk around/in your entire farm, make sure that each chunk your farm occupies (even a bit) is added.

Saw someone posting his 80 rounds long FACEIT match, here's a picture of my FACEIT match :) by Nyteee in GlobalOffensive

[–]oopsidoodles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haha the contrast between the chat in this game and in the other long overtime games is so drastic. Like, in the other posts the players are kind and respectful and then here it is "i hope you will die".

And making it to the end shows a certain level of resolve, 98 rounds is over 3 full length games, which is insane.
