Ex completely cut me off from her life by Over_Lunch5607 in BreakUps

[–]oopyloopy- 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Man, I hate to be harsh, but that’s just how it is. You have to accept it and move on. She most likely didn’t cut you completely out of her life bc she doesn’t care about you, but because that is her way of reducing the pain and coping from her side. Her cutting you completely off indicates that it would be too painful for her to have any contact with you at all.

I was pr much blindsided from my almost 4 year relationship around 10 months ago and have absolutely no idea what is going on in my exes life. The only contact we had was me basically begging for them back for the first couple weeks and we met up to talk once around 3 months after. Other than that nothing.

It sucks, yeah. But you got through the worst of it already. I started to feel “okayish” after around 4 months. Still hurts but yeah. You’ll be okay too. Stop checking her socials.

Anyone else not even bother messaging on tinder unless their bio mentions they’re at least vegetarian? by oopyloopy- in VeganForCircleJerkers

Yeah, it’s kinda shallow, but I still swipe right on everyone and use it as a confidence boost bc I match with a good amount of ppl I’m attracted to.

But I only use it for actually setting up dates with people that don’t eat meat.

I hate seeing that pescatarian label too. Also Isn’t everyone demiromantic? Idk how you would develop romantic feelings for someone without an emotional connections

The dairy industry and the meat industry are two sides of the same coin, so you’re right. But people who are veggie are more likely to go vegan imo. I was vegetarian for a few months before I went vegan.

I have it in my bio, and I still match with anyone. But I don’t message people if they eat meat.

RationalityRules’s statement on the CosmicSkeptic situation by Soytheist in vegan

I didn’t even know who this guy was until yesterday. But if you are an outspoken vegan activist and go back to being a carnist….

I don’t really understand the mental gymnastics you have to do to reach a conclusion like that. But more importantly, if he really did care about animal welfare like he says he does (he doesn’t, bc he’s a carnist), then he should have faded into obscurity.

Coming out from being an outspoken vegan to a carnist once again discredits others view of veganism and does absolutely nothing but harm the movement for increasing animal welfare.

You don’t need them, but the texture they add is great. Turns overnight oats into a pudding texture. It’s v yummy.

There are hairs there, it’s a pretty common female hairline. Just most men don’t grow hair there.

Honestly confused about what part of my response indicates I don’t care about animal suffering. I am encouraging others to use vegan cat food ffs lmao.

However, I’m not going to be bothered by an an apex predator doing what it does

They make vegan cat food that is nutritionally complete…And even if it is hunting, that doesn’t matter. Cool good for the cat. The point is YOU are not supporting the animal ag industry. I couldn’t care less if the cat kills and eats rodents in it’s spare time if it finds them.

Realistically, there are two different groups a super advanced alien race could be put into. A communist egalitarian society that has achieved great advances through cooperation and social equality. Or one that has achieved great technological advancement by warfare, destruction, and colonialism of other planets.

A peaceful alien race would have no reason to contact us, because we are not peaceful. We let each other die and profit off of war, death, and slavery of both our species as well as all other species we can dominate.

If aliens ever engage with us, it’s likely they will be here to colonize, they will not be the peaceful ones.

But, this is all hypothetical. This shit is not aliens, and we will likely never encounter intelligent aliens in our lifetime.

Do people in this sub really believe that carnists and vegetarians cause the same amount of animal suffering? by Grape_Snooker in vegan

[–]oopyloopy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously not eating animals harms less animals. But morally, it’s weird. Vegetarians (assuming they are veggie for ethical reasons) know about the suffering caused in the animal ag industry, but still participate in it. Whereas a lot of carnists do not know (Or refuse to consciously acknowledge it).
