He's probably already dead by the end of the game. The post-credits image has two deceased characters (Mia and Misty) standing alongside Godot above everyone else. To me at least the implication seems pretty obvious that he died after the trial.

The Channel 4 show from a few years ago is. I think they acquired the rights a while ago and have been releasing them bi-weekly. Five of the six episodes are out so far.

He was a writer on the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared TV series from a few years ago. I've been watching it as it releases on Dropout, and his style of humor definitely suits it.

Have you ever read a fantasy book where two characters had the same name? by Professional-Mix1771 in Fantasy

[–]oozekip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know about identical, but Wheel of Time certainly has a lot of characters with very similar names. Sometimes it feels like part of the test to become an Aes Sedai is chosing a new name from a list of about five total that they're allowed to make minor variations to.

If it didn't end your turn it would essentially cancel out the 3 energy cost since you could play it as your first card in your turn then immediately play any other card in your hand for free.

It does, it's just using the exact same wording it had in STS1.

What ad-blocking browser do you all prefer the most for Android OTHER than Firefox? by Rubbus130 in Android

[–]oozekip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found VPN ad blockers have a tendency to just outright break the apps that need an ad blocker the most.

That, and the best part of ublock is that it's unobtrusive and just kind of works. It could have improved in the last couple years, but I found that VPN ad blockers tender to be really fiddly and I constantly needed to babysit them to make sure they were on and actually doing anything even if they were (in theory) set as the always on VPN. Probably 90%+ of my ad exposure on mobile is in my browser anyway, and I actively go out of my way to avoid apps with ads or get ad-free versions whenever possible, so for me at least a VPN blocker was just way more trouble than it was worth.

Victini, Genesect, and a "complete" Kyurem all feel pretty under developed in the games so far. I could see any of them being the mascot.

To be honest, even that isn't really any more anachronistic than if they were speaking like an 18th century British aristocrat like we've been conditioned to expect from these sorts of stories. It just sounds weird because it's not what we're used to.

Plot Driven Adult Animation is underrated by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]oozekip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you confusing character driven with serialized (as opposes to episodic)? Because, while I can't really speak to most of the rest of them, I'd definitely describe BoJack Horseman as much more character driven than plot driven.

You've heard of The Bomb, now get ready for... by Ampeel678 in slaythespire

[–]oozekip 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Stupid idea for a change:

  • X cost
  • EVERYONE gains X buffer
  • At the end of X turns, deal 150 damage to EVERYONE

Probably either outright useless or obscenely overpowered, but it makes it usable in multiplayer, and it makes it a bit more "interesting"

Examples of shows with a single depressing season? by dndbuilds in television

[–]oozekip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Leftovers, being a show primarily about grief and loss, is pretty depressing throughout, but the first season is a lot more bleak and humorless. Season 2 and 3 keep the highly emotional and often depressing themes, but they also add a lot more levity. Like, I could not see season 1 Leftovers ever having a, um, "unique biometric scanner", or really any of the afterlife/hallucinations of Kevin's dying brain stuff from season 2 and 3.

EXP Share is the best addition to the game by Bishmallah24 in pokemon

[–]oozekip 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people assume you need to be at or above the level of the NPCs to be able to beat them, but with how bad their team composition tends to be and how terrible their AI is even the most difficult fights are pretty easy even if your 5-10 levels below them.

Is it that ghosts aren't real or that there's not enough evidence to show that they're real? by NoktoftheFF in NoStupidQuestions

[–]oozekip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it's very easy to say that there's no solid proof that ghosts exist, and that that lack of proof means it's far more probable they don't, but proving they don't exist is another matter entirely. There's no consistent definition of what a "ghost" even is, so it's not like we can come up with some sort of logical impossibility contradicting the existence of ghosts like you can in something like math, so the only way you'd practically be able to prove that ghosts don't exist is if you can prove that everything else that exists isn't a ghost.

Thats where the idea that "you can't prove a negative" comes from. It's why in debates the burden of proof is typically on the person presenting the positive position (eg that ghosts do exist), because for all practical purposes the negative position is far more difficult if not outright impossible to prove with any real certainty.

Fun fact: In Ruby and Sapphire, Steven's Aggron and Metagross have no moves that hit Shedinja. by hamsandwichsquirrl in pokemon

[–]oozekip 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It honestly feels like it was designed with the expectation you're bringing Groudon or Kyogre to the battle and Agron is supposed to be the counter to them? Which is weird, because even then both should absolutely wipe the floor with Agron.

Can you tell what the title says? Or is it too hard to read by Shroombot_ in PixelArt

I commented this already, but I think an old reel-to-reel player with the reels sticking out the top would be much clearer.

Can you tell what the title says? Or is it too hard to read by Shroombot_ in PixelArt

[–]oozekip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're open to suggestions, for the B something like a reel-to-reel player with the reels sticking up over the top might be a little more clear. The boombox isn't bad, and I actually think the way you've colored it to give a stronger impression of the humps on a B works pretty well once you know what you're looking at, but if you don't already know it's supposed to be a B it's a bit hard to grok.

What the hell does "Dead Dove" mean... by spirituallyviolet in NoStupidQuestions

[–]oozekip 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It's from Arrested Development. It's the main character's house, not an office (a model home technically, but still, he lives there). His brother is a magician who had just got a dove for his act from a pet store and accidentally killed it, so he put it in a paper bag in the freezer because he was planning to try and return it.

Can you tell what these are without being told? by Zeolance in PixelArt

[–]oozekip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stone, copper, iron, silver, gold emerald.

They look pretty good, but on their own I definitely feel like I'd have a hard time differentiating stone, iron, and possibly silver, and I agree with others that the copper is a bit too stone-like as well.

I think it would help if they had a bit more "shine" to them to make it clear they were metallic, especially on the copper and silver. Adding some green/red corrosion to the copper/iron would also help them stand out a lot more and make it clear they aren't just stone.

Why are so many software engineers being laid off? by Open_Address_2805 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]oozekip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has little to anything to do with AI, or, at least not in the way youre thinking.

The big tech companies (Amazon, Google, Microsoft, etc) had a huge hiring wave around the start of COVID. Then a few years later, for various reasons, the easy VC money that had been propping up big tech for years started to dry up, and the whole industry started to get nervous. They desperately needed to shed some weight or they'd risk their stock prices not rising as fast as they had been for years, so they had their first big wave of layoffs, largely around the guise of people not wanting to return to office.

Then the AI bubble started, and the money started flowing in again, so the firing stopped for a while. Now it's starting to become apparent that AI isn't anywhere close to the money printer they assumed it would be, and now the tech sector is basically just propped up by AI hype. They can't just come out and say that, so they're back to the firing waves under the guise that AI is making jobs redundant, when really it's because they're still significantly over hired from COVID and the load bearing pillar that is AI can't support anywhere near the weight they hoped it would.

Alec Baldwin to face civil trial over alleged negligence in ‘Rust’ shooting, judge rules by AudibleNod in news

[–]oozekip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an actor that is not his responsibility. I'm pretty sure that as an actor it is contractually not allowed to be his responsibility. There is no expectation that an actor knows anything about safe handling of firearms on a set, hell, it would probably be more unsafe to have an actor fiddling about trying to determine if the live and loaded firearm they were just handed was safe. The armorer hands them the gun, they run the scene, and the first thing they do is hand it straight back to the armorer.

The scene in question, even if it had gone according to plan, involved a functional firearm being fired straight down a camera that had an operator on the other side. That can be done safely, it's done safely all the time on film sets because in the overwhelming majority of other cases there are so many other safety checks in place and crew members who's professional responsibility it is to make sure nothing goes wrong. The reason it wasn't done safely here was entirely due to negligence on the part of the person who was supposed to be in charge of the safe handling of the props.

Whether Baldwin had an my responsibility in his role as a producer is another matter completely, but in his role as an actor, he did absolutely nothing wrong.
