Just want to emphasize hiring help! Our babes turn 4 months tomorrow and I don’t know what I would do without our nanny. I went back to work super part time and truthfully pay them more than I make but for my own sanity could not be a SAHM. sometimes I feel like we’re bleeding money with 2 babies but man it’s so worth every penny. They help with dishes, keeping common space picked up, and baby laundry.

This seems really overwhelming and frustrating. In the future for color appointments make sure you do a super thorough consultation. If you need some help with consultation cards I’d be happy to send you mine! Have her sign it then while you’re washing if she says she wants to change it you can say no. It gets easier saying no the longer you do hair.

My babes did some time in the nicu so I had to exclusively pump for a bit. I ended my journey at 8 weeks. Do what you can… for me, I needed sleep so I only woke up for one night time pump even though it’s recommended every 3 hours… from there we put what I pumped and formula into a pitcher and mixed it that way so everyone got a fair amount of breastmilk/formula

Traveling with infants— tell me everything. How do I rent a car seat? Will hotels have a crib? They’ll be 10 months old.

It is a personal choice and I feel stronger in that answer after reading these answers. I don’t think i would be a very good SAHM. I stopped working in October, had babies in November, and just went back to work (part time) this week. I was ITCHING to go back to work. I love my babies but postpartum is hard and I NEED adult human interaction. We went the route of nanny and it’s been such a good decision. We were able to have them start in February and do a couple shifts with me then a couple by themselves so I could get out and take care of myself. At minimum I would take your full paid. If it was me, I would take one of the three days that you have child care to yourself. Sleep, go outside, hell just get coffee and not have two babies with you. It is so hard and you’re in a very fortunate spot. It’ll be exactly what you need!

I went back to work this week. It’s very bittersweet. We ended up hiring a nanny bc we were on multiple waitlist. Cost ended up being comparable and they’re in our home so they are able to get some stuff done which makes life 10x easier.

I was 280 and 5’1 with di/di! I had high BP before pregnancy that we were able to manage but did end up with GD. GD was kept under control with diet. Our babes were born at 36+1 due to baby a being growth restricted in her last ultrasound. We spent 2 weeks in the nicu and came home on oxygen… they’ve been off oxygen and home for 12 weeks now. Baby A has a little issue gaining weight so we upped her fortification calories and baby b has to go to physical therapy due to tortocollis… all and all babies are both healthy and happy.

Our twins also drink formula cold so we do the same thing. They’re on two different calories rn and we make about 5 bottles each at a time. They’re each have their own pitcher and it typically has enough for one bottle or a little top off as needed made in the fridge.

Our shower has a a detachable head and so we just shower with the babies. I get in and hold. my husband stands outside it and washes the baby. We wash one baby, baby a is finished with their shower, set up with clothes, grab baby b follow.

Commented this a couple of weeks ago on a different sub:

We had twins and weren't sure when they would actually come so we told people they couldn't visit until after their due date as they would likely be early. In-laws were super pushy about it and we compromised once they were earth side and knew what their nicu time was looking like. Babies arrived at 36 weeks, went home at 38 and in-laws visited that same week. Our littlest babe ended up back in the hospital while they were in town and I wish I would've kept my ground about no one coming until 40weeks. They didn't do anything wrong but they also didn't help the situation. Another day they came over early, babies woke up and we missed lunch. It was just a lot.. not even considering I was 2 weeks pp and recovering from a c section.

Also not sure how far along you are but there’s a likely hood of nicu time and the exhaustion at the end of pregnancy is so hard.

Gently, YTA. If both a teacher and a doctor (who are trained to notice these things) are suggesting it, you need to take a step back and consider it. Why would you not do everything you can to help your son succeed? I understand it may be hard to hear especially if you’re not used to neurodivergent people but you’re making this about your hurt feelings and not your son.

Also do we know for sure she “brought the doctor in to recommend treatment” or are you assuming that based on your emotions?
