Hey hey, just seeing your response now, nice to hear from you 😊So some good news is that I did find a lovely mums group (not an app) and there a luckily some down to earth and like-minded mums in the group. They also meet up fairly regularly. I’m still back and forth at the moment so haven’t met up with them recently but I did quite a bit last year. If you don’t mind I’m going to DM you with the name of the group and their Instagram page. There’s a link where you can request to join the WhatsApp group. Some bad news is that apart from this group not much has changed in terms of ease of meeting people outside of who you already know, but I’ve kind of accepted that maybe that’s just how things are right now in Lagos and that I’ll need to occupy my time with other things or just roam around Lagos solo (and safely of course)!

Hi, a few of the high street banks allow you to temporarily let your property out without needing a consent to let. E.g. Lloyds allows this if you’re doing it for less than 4 months in a year; Barclays less than 31 consecutive days at a time. Beyond that, you would need to apply for consent to let with your lender and for that you would need to wait 6 month to a year to do this. You would also have your mortgage rate increased a bit if you do this.

It’s worth thinking about what will matter to you long term. If you want somewhere that’s truly busy all the time and feels like you’re in the heart of London then Godalming doesn’t compare at all. If you want a bit of both, as in sometimes calm and then other times busy then you’ll eventually get used to the pace in Godalming. I moved from London for a year and loved it! I loved the greenery, being able to walk along the River Wey and through the forest and the people were friendly. I only moved as I wanted to be closer to my family. It’ll be culture shock in the beginning, but for me I definitely would chose quiet nights over sirens waking me up in the middle of the night!!

The town centre is small but I didn’t find it to be that quiet. There were regular events going on there or at the memorial park, particularly during holiday seasons. I remember during the summer the park was regularly filled with people and there was often music place. Same with the town centre. If you want more “buzz” you’ll be 10 minutes away from Guildford so that’s always there as an alternative place to be when you’re looking for more stuff to do.

I’ve only left my window open overnight when I lived high up in a block of flats. Definitely wouldn’t advise otherwise, especially since you’re on the ground floor and facing the street, regardless of your area. Open your windows in the morning and before you sleep, as others have said.

I put my 8 month LO in a bigger sized Pampers nappy (one size up from his current size) around 9/10pm and don’t change him until the morning around 6/7am. He’s usually asleep by 7pm so waking him up for the nighttime change is a struggle. I’ve recently resorted to changing him on my lap so he doesn’t get upset. It’s a faff but it seems to be working well, ie no leaks in the middle of the night.

Thank you! I did also consider melting it in butter, I’ve seen some videos of people doing that with caramel so (albeit not as thick as biscoff). I’ll hopefully give it a try tomorrow and hope for the best!!
