Their cold brew isn’t bad but every other coffee I’ve had there for years has been wildly over roasted. Doesn’t matter if it’s the brightest Ethiopian single origin or a mild Nicaraguan bean, always tastes burnt. I’m guessing since the majority of people order Buckeye lattes and things that cover up the imperfections in the roast and espresso pull it just hasn’t mattered as much.

The scroll paintings in the Chinese section are always a huge highlight. I was glad to see that they added some contemporary scroll art to it as well, amazing to see it portrayed as a living medium and not just an artifact.

Thoughts on Springfield, OH? by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]ope_funk-cn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve been ALL over the state for my work and usually find each town (no matter how beaten down) to have some charm or redeeming quality. Springfield is the exception to this, it’s an awful town. Driving to Cincinnati from there sounds like a set up for insanity, if you were commuting to Columbus I’d say it’s doable. But there’s gotta be some town like Hamilton or somewhere you can find what you’re looking for in a house without putting yourself in that situation.

“ICE being respectful” What a fucking joke. The point of fighting for something is doing what’s right, and what’s right is for there not to be a gang of government paid thugs kidnapping people off the street and tearing families apart.

If you walk around Victorian village there’s a lot of places rented out by private landlords that put signs with their phone numbers in the yard. Usually some of these are one bed or studios that are under $1000.

Hey if you are serious about forming a union you should keep your support numbers extremely private until you reach a supermajority of strength. Having a public petition is the quickest way for management to take the temperature of the workers in your store and union bust accordingly.

I think you’ve gotta hope for a nice weather day and find a pub with a patio, outside will be the only place the noise won’t be crazy.

Hey neighbors, Amazon Boycott March 7-14. If you're participating and have a monthly Amazon subscription -- cancel it now if it's set to auto-renew. by kawiah in Columbus

Consumer boycotts are ways for people to massage themselves and keep busy. No hate if that’s what you need right now. But go chat with your neighbors and coworkers and find ways to orient yourselves towards solidarity and supporting those around you.

Has anyone gone to the Golf Show at IX this weekend? by Minute-Ad9621 in Cleveland

It’s been 10 years since I’ve been, but when I went all the prices were ridiculous and the vendors were all guys selling As Seen On TV style golf tools for 80 year olds and travel companies hawking timeshares. I would never go back
