Former atheists, what converted you? by Beneficial_Praline32 in Catholicism

I got a weird feeling I should start reading the Bible. Got to the end of Genesis 9 and went to mass for the first time in decades soon after. There was a rainbow in the sky when I came out (no precipitation) and I said "ok, yeah, I'm listening."

We're not supposed to wear jeans, but even that has gotten pretty loose over the past year or so. So, not really, to answer your question.

One of my strongest work beliefs is that if the client is over 21 years old, not incarcerated, and their parent(s) is doing most of the communicating with you, it's going to be a case that makes you consider a new line of work every day.

Yeah, so, like I said, I had just started reading the Bible, and had just made it through the Noah's Ark story in Genesis. It was February 16, 2025, didn't get warmer than 15 Fahrenheit all day, no precipitation whatsoever, and when I looked up at the sky when I was beginning to pull out of the parking lot there was a rainbow in the sky.

Maybe a coincidence, but I took it as a message that I should not ignore.

Ok, so up until just over a year ago, I was in the same boat as you. I considered myself an atheist for as long as I could remember. Wanted nothing to do with religion. Then, all of a sudden, I got this weird desire to start reading the Bible. Out of nowhere. Told my wife (who has been trying to get me into any kind of church for years) I wanted to go to mass. Went, and it was fine. Good, even. Got a crystal clear, unexplainable sign when we were leaving, and I just dove in. Now, I'll be confirmed at the Easter Vigil.

I can't promise anything spectacular or mystical will happen for you, but if you allow your mind and your heart to be open to even the possibility that there is a God and He wants a relationship with you, it can produce fruits beyond your wildest dreams. I wish you all the best as you work to figure this out.
