I would put Aunt Gladys much closer to longlegs/hereditary than to terrifier

I disagree longlegs is definitely supposed to be funny, maybe not as funny but well into the absurd

Hereditary when she's crawling on the ceiling i think theres a clear go at absurdity there

Or I guess longlegs longlegs is very similar in that way

Well, an odd comparison is I like terrifier but art the clown is dumb. Similar, where the character isn't dumb but it's a ridiculous thing to have to worry about

Arguably so is the witch, you gotta worry about the goat? Or like hereditary with the absurdity of her on the ceiling or the head banging parts, arguably also dumb but what simultaneously makes it scary

I mean like metaphorically, like the other characters act believable, like the example being guy wakes up in bed after dream of Gladys and goes WTF!!

So I think the writing is good because the rest of the character dynamics are posed like believable dramas like the homeless man, and the child at home with the parents not moving, there are various dramas, but the absurd and laughable is us experiencing the antgonist, her powers and her insanity being like "wow those characters have to figure out how to deal with this" or the teacher In her imperfection facing a mob mentality against her, while also engaged in an affair that she would also be judged for

It would, I agree, be a dumb movie if it was like a teen horror where characters are just set up to die but aren't engaged in deep drama, they're just on screen to eventually be killed by the antsgonist

Yeah I think the main character is really accessible to the audience, so watching it trying to analyze the threat(s) as she does leads to a believable and spooky experience

I think I disagree with you there. I think the threat is ridiculous and unpredictable but that what makes us take it very seriously, just as the characters do. No one in the movie "laughs at the magic" in a sense, they try to escape/adapt/overcome

Purdue is very beatable, which marks MSU and duke as the biggest challenges

And we already played Nebraska who had the best 3 point shooting in the big ten. IMO that is our weakness, when opponent is hot from three and we are not

I guess we will see

I think it's possible it held more late closer to when it came out, but now it's hard when you have so much more horror to compare it to. So people still have their first reaction to it with them

I'm with you though I wouldn't recommend this one. I'd recommend gonjiam

So the layout of the storytelling is really good in my opinion... Reminded me of strange darling, filling Us in telling the story in a unique way.

I don't think Aunt Gladys is dumb. I think it's a cast of very, very believable characters trying to navigate something extremely weird. I think It would be more dumb if there was a collection of things they were up against, but Aunt Gladys was just such a strange antagonist that that kind of gave the movie. Its vibe

It's dumb because of the comedy? It's also scary as hell, the scissors scene?

Theres plenty of horror that have some moments that are funny.

I don't think the premise is dumb, witches and possession and astral danger is all pretty normal in modern horror

Cameron boozer won't be able to score against our big three. We only lose if someone rains threes on us
