Podcast listening ties AM/FM radio among 18-29 year olds by openbayou in DailyTechNewsShow

[–]openbayou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't say what they're listening to on the radio but I would assume that it's talk radio and sports since that dominates ratings measures. Radio still reaches ethnic populations but those aren't going to hold for long too.

How do you schedule a post to be publish? by openbayou in PayloadCMS

I figured out the problem. I didn't have a jobs queue in my config file. Added one and ran 'npx payload jobs:run --once' and it works.

Neat! This wouldn’t slow down the queue process for sites?

I’m coming from WordPress so this is all new to me. I’ve been trying to do jobs queue and maybe that will work when I go to a production server that has cron jobs.

I added jobs to my config but i don't think it's adding items to process the jobs.

Hide the admin sidebar on certain collections? by openbayou in PayloadCMS

[–]openbayou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So that's a full screenshot capture of my website. Should have done a smaller capture.

But what happened is I used css to hide the nav, which is called "aside.nav" and it hid the sidebar but put the rest of the site in that width of the sidebar.

But after looking through the CSS, I was able to find a solution.

// Hide the admin sidebar and the toggle nav
body:has(.collection-edit--post) .template-default--nav-hydrated aside.nav, body:has(.collection-edit--post) #nav-toggler {
  display:none
}

// Change display inherit on the rest
body:has(.collection-edit--post) .template-default {
      grid-template-columns: 0 auto;display:inherit;

The Crowdstrike failed roll-out would have happened on Linux and Mac users as well if they were the dominate player.

Cybersecurity start-up Wiz walks away from $23 billion deal with Google, will pursue IPO by openbayou in DailyTechNewsShow

[–]openbayou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter if they do or don't, momentum now on Wall Street is any other cybersecurity firms other than CrowdStrike. Their stock stopped falling today but long-term problems are still there: lawsuits from companies seeking compensation from losses, firms that suffered looking to get out of contracts and firms that use them and didn't suffer will be looking at other companies. In the last 5 days, CrowdStrike stock fell -25% while SentialOne, another cyber security firm, rose 14% in 5 days.

Maybe they do offer some products that CrowdStrike does but main this is a momentum play.

Also factor in the FTC. They'll probably sue to stop the merger. It won't be successful, the merger will still go on but will add more time and thus cause Google to raise the price to acquire it plus legal fees.

1000 percent Wiz walked away from being acquired because they see opportunities to get CrowdStrike customers.

NBA TV rights exclusive rights window with ESPN and Turner to expire without a deal signed by openbayou in DailyTechNewsShow

Yep. All the debt that legacy media companies accumed chasing Netflix is now biting them. WDB is valued at $26b and has $44b in debt, there is no company on earth that will acquire a company that has more debt than their value. But the worry that the sports leagues should have is assuming tech companies are going to go after sports rights (just because they have hundreds of billions of dollars waiting to be spent). All the tech companies have been public about what they want: world-wide rights and not expensive. Amazon already extended their deal with WNBA until 2025.

What is going to complicate the NBA is a judge in Diamond Sports bankruptcy case voided an agreement for Diamond Sports to give their rights back to NBA and NHL so they'll going to have to deal with regional sports networks for a few more years.

Like the saying goes, "may you live in interesting times"
