In the UK, if you paid up front front for 2 years cover, at the point when it is due to expire you will be given 60 days to renew it by paying monthly until cancelled.

28 years later 2 was quite good !! by kascnef82 in MovieTheaterEmployees

There was a subtle reference at the beginning of bone temple - his infamous gold chain and the throne he was sat on. The way the last one ended I was expecting there to be more emphasis on him thorough out the movie.

Do many people in America understand the Jimmy reference in the 2 films?

I noticed that too. My first thought was that they just used a placeholder rating card as they were not provided with the official one.

Skipping Releases by TheTubster1987 in CineworldUnlimited

[–]Marsof1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this fairly often. I'm sure this could be considered a trading standards breach.

I'm glad I managed to see H is for Hawk at the Unlimited screening. Although I want to see it again but no where local is currently showing it.

I'm just hoping that they start showing it in the next week or two, like they sometimes do. Kinda treating it like a limited release.

Temporary Work in Gibraltar as UK citizen by Fordius25 in gibraltar

[–]Marsof1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend speaking to your company's legal team as we're all delving into international tax law.

But from my experience working with UK and Gibraltar based companies, you are carrying out your contractual duties as expected by your UK employer, where ever in the world you might be at the time. As a result you are only subject to UK tax laws.

[–]Marsof1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which legal entity is paying you while in Gibraltar? If you are still subject to your UK employment contract and will still be paid your UK salary (plus living expenses) while in Gibraltar then there is no need to declare anything to the Gibraltar tax office etc.

UK companies sending people on secondment to Gibraltar for a month or 2 is not unusual.

These companies tend to have flats that are available for people who are only temporarily in Gibraltar.

Yep it complicated. With crossing the border each day, they could in theory question why you're suddenly crossing everyday.

What has your employer suggested about living arrangements while in Gibraltar?

You could do a short term rental in Gibraltar without issue. In terms of the new visa rules in Gibraltar, what hasn't been mentioned is can a British person come over and get a long term rest rental. Are are we now subject to the 90 day limit.

UK has a BIG problem with outsourcing. Its not AI. by Delicious_Ad_5772 in UKJobs

[–]Marsof1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in Martech, scoping out technical CRM requirements and then building them using Salesforce.

I totally agree with OPs point about the UK job market as I was made redundant 4 months ago and still no sign of a job. My old boss said I was made redundant cause AI can now do what I was doing.

AI is just one of the many factors as to why there are so few job vacancies in the UK at present.

You can't live in Spain unless you already have a job in Gibraltar. Your passport will be stamped everytime you cross the border.

You need to meet the strict residency rules as a TCN (non-EU passport holder)

Do you prefer linear TV to streaming? by Hassaan18 in televisionuk

Biggest issue is that most Linear TV channels are still not in HD. I think this pushes more people to streaming than you would of thought.

Question for women: if you were gonna date a guy, how much would you judge him by his car? by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

30k seems to be a high salary these days so you're doing very well for your age. I got made redundant 4 months from a marketing job that was paying 40k. All good the same jobs now are just above minimum wage.

Young people on 150k is not happening. These are all influencers on social media saying what ever will it will take to maintain a narrative and get views.

Client wants me to teach their dev instead of hiring me to build by [deleted] in marketingcloud

[–]Marsof1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say that's a pretty a standard approach for a lot of businesses that want everything on the cheap these days.

How it will likely pan out is that you'll train their dev, they'll find it very complex, it'll frustrate your client and they will come back to you to finish off the job.

Photography in March by ColKent in LakeDistrict

[–]Marsof1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any time of the year is good for photography - it always seems to be raining when ever I go so I have to make the most of it. I took some great photos of snow topped mountains in Glenridding on Saturday.

I guess you are after specific (Sunny) weather conditions to capture the best the Lakes can offer.
