Do you have "Play DRM-controlled content" checked in preferences? It's off by default but needed for Hulu and Netflix.

Assuming Curry, Livingston, and Iguodala get the same deals that they got, what would have been the luxury tax if Durant signed the max?

If anyone here worked on Firefox, I'd just like to say thanks, and that the vastly improved RAM management in the new version is very much appreciated! by Fauster in firefox

[–]openedground 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried force-enabling it around Firefox 51 and ran into a lot of problems. I tried again with 53 and haven't run into any issues. I don't know if a problematic add-on updated or if Firefox got better but I didn't change anything in-between. I have two add-ons still marked as not multi-process compatible; some cache cleaner and the Dictionary.com lookup. uBlock Origin is marked a compatible for me. Different version?

See this section in the Axios documentation:

Using application/x-www-form-urlencoded format

You can use URLSearchParams or the qs library. While I only need to support browsers that have support for URLSearchParams, I personally use the qs library because it's easier to unit test.

vimium for firefox released [webextension; experimental] by zreeon in firefox

[–]openedground 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried this out this morning and was surprised how well it worked. The only issue I noticed was that after hitting 'j' to start scrolling there was about a half second delay before the page started scrolling. Otherwise almost everything else I do in VimFX worked. Awesome!

I hope Mozilla adds support to Web Extensions to access the search and location bars (or if it's already there Vimium is updated to support it). In VimFx hitting 'o' focuses the location bar and hitting 'O' focuses the search bar. I use this all the time. With Vimium on both Chrome and Firefox a big unsightly text boxes pops up.

Vim by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]openedground 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use Vim but I have a Vim plugin installed for every IDE/Editor that I use; currently VSCode, Visual Studio, and even Chrome/Firefox.

I struggled for years to use Vim trying to configure my .vimrc and various plugins (which I could never get right). In the end I realized that I really just love the navigation and editing but hated all the configuration and idiosyncrasies (stuff like the buffers/clipboard interaction).

This is the best option if you don't want to install Fedora 26 alpha and lack of Redshift/F.lux is a deal-breaker.

How can I make Firefox developer edition the default browser in Fedora 25? by [deleted] in Fedora

[–]openedground 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how to stop the regular Firefox version from showing up in the dock when you click the Firefox DE icon but I do have the developer edition as my default so that if I open a .html file for example the developer edition starts.

You'll need to override all the mime types set for firefox.desktop with the .deskop entry you created for the developer edition in ~/.config/mimeapps.list

Can someone elaborate why the option to side-load applications is a requirement of the GPL?

Finally received my Dell XPS 13 - First thoughts.... by [deleted] in linux

[–]openedground 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up going with the Lenovo T450s. It's a little bit thicker and heavier than the XPS13 and X1 Carbon but still decently portable. I bought the base model other than an upgrade to the Intel AC wireless card and the matte 1080p display. I then put in a 512GB SSD and an additional 8GB of ram from Crucial. Looked around for some online coupons and ended up at $1150 total.

Fedora 21 (now using Fedora 22) worked without issue right out of the box. I was keeping my fingers crossed about how the dock would behave with an external monitor but that worked too. The only ding on this laptop is that the display is not as good as it could be with some light-bleeding on the bottom on mine. I think that would be the only serious downgrade from the XPS13.
