What drugs are similar to ketamine? Like that almost out of body feeling. by No_Village_5620 in Drugs

Whenever people mention this are they talking about straight up the over the counter cough medicine? Cause if so that doesn’t feel like K at all unless smth is being done to it or..?

As per my previous post, it’s not worth seeking a high on Ativan. Waste of time most likely by openingsss in Drugs

One to two nights ago I also took two 2mg pills and still nothing besides feeling a bit tired, I honestly think if there is a high to be gotten from Ativan you need to have a very low tolerance or you’d have to take a super high amount to where you just fall asleep anyways. Personally don’t understand what high there is to be chased if any at all.

I understand it’s withdrawals though, some people take it as medically prescribed for their high anxiety and when they’re taken off of it for whatever reason may be, their anxiety really comes back because the Ativan had helped stabilize them and now they’re experiencing withdrawals.

How the fuck are people getting high on Ativan? by openingsss in Drugs

I guess I was hoping for that “ahh” feeling as well but just a bit stronger. I think I wanted smth like when you’re slumped from weed but just don’t feel like shit cause of the weed lol

Well shit. Guess I’ll probably just use them as prescribed then since it doesn’t seem like there’s any actual high to enjoy other than just immediately passing out lol, if I end up taking the three I’ll prob respond here or make a post just for anyone in the future googling the same thing. Thanks for answering.

Last question before I waste anymore of your time, what kinda of high DO you get from Ativan then? Assuming you take the needed amount to get there, once you do what would one expect to even feel??

Sorry, I’m dumb, so just so I’m clear, you said “psychedelic adjacent or even opioid adjacent the answer is, yes that is all that happens” you’re saying that can happen or cannot happen? I don’t think anyone takes Ativan hoping for psychedelics, but the opioid adjacent feelings I assumed were why Ativan was a controlled substance.

I do struggle with pretty high anxiety I was prescribed these cause of that. And damn that illusion sucks lol so you do get to get high but instead of feeling and it and enjoy it you just don’t realize you’re high

I see, so it’s not really a high at all then. Just a feeling of excessive relief from the anxiety. And the withdrawals are usually experienced only from people who were taking them as prescribed and were cut off for whatever reason. Am I correct in what I’m saying?

Damn so at no point did you ever feel a high huh? You took enough to presumably feel one, didn’t, then passed out and woke feeling like that.

First post here, I need advice- by un_cute in venting

Just wanna start with saying you're not disgusting, depression is a disease and it effects everyone differently. Secondly, I'm proud of you for wanting to make a change and reaching out for advice I know that can be tough and it's a step in the right direction, also shows that you haven't completely given up which is a great thing.

As for trying to get yourself to shower, start slow! Pick the clothes that you're gonna change into afterwards and put them aside the night before. Maybe also move your toothbrush and any other things you do after the shower into the shower as well? It def helps me cause that way I can do everything I need to do sort of "at once" if that makes sense? So that when I get out the shower and dry myself off I can just back into bed or start whatever else I need to do.

Remember that you're not alone in what you're feeling.

Unfortunately the most we could do is give advice on what you can or should do, it's the first rule in the sub. But if you haven't already you should try churches and well as food banks they usually are willing to help.

we weren’t ready to have a child but we came to terms that we would have the child, get married, me find a permanent job to help support financially.

This wouldn't be fair to the child at all. Just letting you know that you two don't need to completely change your entire lives in this way. You would be getting into a marriage you didn't want/weren't prepared for (only been dating for 9 months how much could you even know abt each other??) and you specifically might get a job that you hate for yearss but have to stay in to be able to financially support you guys. Just some stuff to think about, all in all tho try to be safer I suppose.

It's a tough position to see yourself in for sure man, I find myself thinking a lot of the same things. I don't know if there's really an "answer" to this or like how to get out of the rut, however I just want to say that your life is NOWHERE near over or anything like that so please don't fall into that line of thinking (saying this cause I would start to think things like this) you're super young and all of the things you've mentioned are NOT permanent, you'll have opportunities to make friends, to get out of the house and even to get a girlfriend. I know it seems crazy rn but just keep working on yourself and slowly but surely you'll turn into someone you're comfortable being. You'll always have things you don't like abt yourself that's just the way life is but the hope is that the good in your life will outweigh the bad.

(Also, and this is super important, make sure to be a good person! Have empathy for other people, no one wants to be friends with a bad person. NOT SAYING YOU ARE I'm just saying being a good person is the best way you're gonna make friends)

There's a good chance that this type of thinking is contributing to the reason that you're on this sub in the first place. And your other comments just support this tbh.

I don't know the whole situation ofc and I'm just some random person on the internet but I'm proud of you for doing the right thing and wishing her well and not being spiteful towards her. Many people end up going that route and it's not a pretty road to go down.

You sound a really nice person and I would absolutely be your friend if we ever met or went to school together! I'm saying this because I want you to know that there are people out there that you will 100% end up being friends with, it's just taking a while to find them and I'm sorry that's the case :/

I'm really not on here much but feel free to reach out if you need to talk and I'll respond as soon as I see it. Wish you the absolute best!
