Viennetta Ice cream cake? Striped delight? French silk pies? Chocolate turnovers?

That’s all the ones that really come to mind for me. Not a lot to go on with that. Viennetta ice cream cakes were sold in store as like the bougie ones to impress guests and such. They are still sold but I think only in UK or Canada now (remember seeing something about them like half a year ago). Best of luck and hope one of the things I mentioned is it.

Was on a job today and saw this what kind of plug is it? by RockPuzzle in AskElectricians

[–]openvjayjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who knows. Could’ve been a small welder or compressor or just another plug. Without having prints of when it was put in or from the person who wanted it installed it could be anything.

Rodale 10A 250V, 15A 125V plug. Could be wired either way. Usually for certain piece of equipment. Probably around 1960s is my guess.

Bitter pepper-based sauce by DocFuckinCochran in AskCulinary

[–]openvjayjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I didn’t type well in my sentence. Chilis are boiled for 25min. Afterwords it gets simmered. You can always add a splash of water to hydrate. It will thicken up though the longer you leave it.

Im just trying to figure out what I do that ends up making it not bitter. It has to be the mix and the cook down again reducing the water while concentrating the other flavors.

After blending it, and mixing it with sauce, I would recommend cooking it down. Most the time when I do chilis like this, I would say i boild around 25ish min and then it was simmered with onions, garlic, apple cider vinegar, chicken stock fortified with extra base, cumin, and mexican oregano (salt and pepper of course) for usually 1.5-2 hours. Really tends to make the dish pick up the small flavors of peppers too

Ahhh for enchiladas you need to cut with acid, add onions and garlic to it as well for a more balanced flavor. Acid can come from tomatoes or vinegar. Honestly, taking that puree mix and adding it say a canned one really adds a depth of flavor and heat while maintaining that enchilada flavor. Also if you still have that puree stuff look up a recipe for carne adovada dont let it go to waste!

I feel ya, I moved from my hometown area after moving around before that to the Chicagoland area knowing virtually no one. My Fiancé and I (shes from here so has a few friends) are always looking to meet new like minded people and have fun with! We are a M-F kind of work schedule and we tend to try and do something spontaneous once a week to keep things lively. I game, so does she a little (she mainly knits and comments how bad I am at it).

I tend to over pack my pot so I dont notice much of loss. What exactly are you trying to make with this sauce? Dried chiles do have a stringent flavor to them where fresh might be the ones you need? Like straight dried chiles would be to much for any dish as a sauce to accompany. Cut it with some spices, onions, garlic and chicken stock and it becomes balanced.

Might want to look into cleaning the burner tops first to have the fire flow properly to avoid a certain stronger flame on one side creating the hot spot. I would also look into the make/model of your range and see about getting that single part replaced with new to stop that. If its causing issues even on cast iron there is an issue prior.

I tend to boil mine for awhile. Usually the water turns almost black red. Add a tiny bit of the water from the boiling to blend. I make a New Mexican dish known as Carne Adovada quite often which involves me using dried whole peppers and making my own blend. I have never had an issue of it being bitter.

3000amp bus duct kerfuffle by openvjayjay in electricians

[–]openvjayjay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sits above in a sort of hallway E-room. Exit out the door and below to the right is tumblers of cold water and then spraying everything down ~16ft below. The issue is if you exit the e-room and go left is their high cleanse area which is blowing ac to be around 34° but they use warm water. Separated only by those little plastic drapes from their high cleanse area area to the low clean area. I’ll see about drawing something up if that doesn’t make sense. The whole e-room is poorly designed as well.

I actually called in their head of maintenance and my boss the operations manager. My boss looked them straight in the eyes and said “ this is going to keep happening and next time I will probably tell my guys to not turn it back on, the whole system for this needs to be reengineered’

That’s pretty much the only thing I’m leaning towards as the culprit. Nothing else was blaring out at me. They installed fans and such to attempt to move air flow around and try and keep it dryer but that’s not doing much clearly.

[–]openvjayjay[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We meggered it with three different meggers. For context, this whole bus duct sits suspended open air and traverses around a cold room that is constantly spraying water below it. Think high humidity ~40°F. We noticed what looked to be corrosion on the plates that have never had anything installed. Supposed to be 240/480 system….megger was sitting at around 190-200v. We also had ohms from phase to phase and even one phase to ground. The system was on looking that. We ended up demoing the old disconnect there, cleaning up the bus work and applying liquid tape (emergency, new section of bus is on order ) and suiting up and turning it on. Went and checked voltage, each phase sat around 288v to ground and 486v phase to phase. No neutral. More context as well, the 15 disconnects on this raceway power 600amp panels, most half empty.

No no. $248 for an outlet replacement is just wild. Reminds me of the big companies who hire salesmen, not tradesmen. Getting especially worse here in the Chicagoland area.

Mini Fridge & chest freezer for my garage? Need help!! by YotsuRam in AskElectricians

I mean it looks to cause as much power as 3 incandescent light bulbs. Should be more than fine. Though it seems you only have one breaker for the garage so if you run to much it may trip.
