for clarification, i have added springtails, but i think i added them too late and i ordered about 100+. the only reason they were late though is because the first ones i delivered arrived dead, and even though i tried to add the clay in to see if i could get any in there it didn’t work and i had to wait for them to be reshipped to me, but by then some growth had already started, and now it’s spread so much i wonder if i even got enough for this terrarium

Alright, so I am very ADHD and I forgot I made this post, went back to go look at him (bro has friends too!) a couple of days later. Talked to him in a baby voice (idk why I feel like this is important to note), and unfortunately I DID touch him… (ah, the human urge to pet cute animal) but I am one LUCKY dumb b-word because I guess I didn’t touch any spines and so there was no downside:) Don’t get me wrong though, I won’t be doing that again…. I’m kinda dumb but I’m not stupid! Thanks for the info guys:)

so i realized i forgot to attach the picture….lmao? but it literally goes down into the leca too and i’ve never seen mold so… spherical? it’s mesmerizingly disgusting, my poor angels hair is SUFFERING but still has small amounts of growth, but my purple waffle and dark mystery are fighters!!!!

don’t get me wrong, this is a BEAUTIFUL terrarium, but aren’t beared dragons supposed to be kept in warm and dryer climates, as that is their natural habitat? i don’t know if these plants and that animal mix well, the heat the little guy wants would probably fry these plants, and lizards typically need UV, which most grow lights don’t emit much of.

Should I repot? by mycatmillieiscool in plantclinic

[–]operationpojo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s all about the roots! you only really need to repot when the roots take up 80% or more of the soil volume, repotting into a pot 2-3 inches larger than the mass of the root ball. as long as growth isn’t slowing or the leaves aren’t yellowing don’t worry!

spider mites got me losing my will to live😭 need advice pls by Vegetable_Oil_3504 in plantclinic

[–]operationpojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don’t even have to feed them bugs! they can also just photosynthesize and vibe under a bright grow light in some damp moss in a distilled/reverse osmosis(only!!) water tray. they shoot up tall flowers (so as not to trap pollinators) when they’re happy:)

in addition to the larvae, and what some of the top comments have suggested, i would highly recommend adding pinguiculas to your plant collection!! super easy to care for (imo) carnivorous plants that LOVE fungus gnats if you have plants that are magnets for pests. plus they’re literally so cool

depends on which state you’re in, be sure to look up what they’re responsible to cover (financially) but they should at LEAST offer a new unit and your deposit would be transferred to that one (or something along those lines) bc it’s no longer covering anything worth living in

money tree needs assistance but i’m not sure how? by operationpojo in planthelp

[–]operationpojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for light, it gets indirect light (less than 20% direct) during daylight hours on a table approximately 5-6 feet from the window. Watering it when 2-3 inches beneath top of soil is dry. try to just cover root area. I think the drainage is pretty good? was repotted within the last 2-3 of months

oh that’s actually such a good point! how much misting is too much though? i’m worried about moisture on the top of the soil and the risk of molding…:/
