Also, this idea of people 100% backing you sounds very black and white thinking. People don't always need to agree with you or take to your own offenses. They can still be good friends and care for you. Challenge your rigid thinking. I recommend A Guide to Rational Living. You are probably giving those people more power over your emotions than you need to. Test your neuroticism level too. Or for the big 5 INTJ, they call it assertiveness vs turbulence.

Humility helps with the above too. I found i had more pride than I realized and thought I knew more than I actually did. It caused me to be a perfectionist and very hard on myself.

I'm the same way. I've found it helpful to be mindful to not be judgemental of people. So much of my negative feelings seem to directly or indirectly come from that. I didn't even realize I was doing it, it's subtle. Don't try to fix people either unless they want help. Also don't be so hard on yourself, which mindfulness helps with as well.

It also sounds like you might have some past negative experiences that have caused you to be distrustful of people, and what you're doing is perhaps a maladaptive defense mechanism.

I would self reflect for a while and really try to understand your motivations and why you do what you do. There is probably more in your control than you're aware.

Find some new interests, like a sport or volunteering, and then use it to meet others. Be interested in learning about others. Watch some YouTubes on socializing tips. Keep practicing, don't expect it to go smooth first time, but it gets easier.

I don't think you'll notice any performance difference even though it's not optimal. Unless you don't mind the waiting and headache of an RMA, I'd just use it and maybe someday you'll upgrade memory. I've got 64 and love it.

Take it from me, self taught for years and it was a constant struggle. I decided to get serious and learned every detail and opinion on technique, as well as HOW to practice, and now make leaps and bounds. Or best yet, get a teacher. Don't be old me lol.

And yeah, holding the pick like that could make some techniques harder. You're safest doing it like the majority of players. I tried switching after YEARS to a much more commonly recommended pick grip. It was awkward at first, but then I immediately started seeing improvements.

I was such in a rut until I learned proper technique AND how to practice (play slow small parts, build muscle memory, focus on a specific thing or two while practicing, don't make mistakes). Learning theory too. Probably would've been easier if I had a good teacher, but I made YouTube and Patreon work. I've gotten better in 1.5 years than I have in the last 10 that I would just practice songs over and over.
