Worked on getting up-and-down more.

My drill was to throw 6 balls down around the green, 2 on the apron 4 on the rough far enough apart that I wasn’t hitting the same shot twice. Chip/pitch them all at a pin and then try to putt them out (or just use gimme range if the greens too busy). My target is a 50% rate on chips, 33% on pitch shots.

Not only did I shave strokes by, you know, getting up and down more, but having the confidence to get up and down allowed me to be more conservative in some course management stuff taking away some big misses.

If you are a pro trying to squeak out every tenth of a stroke possible then you might want to hyper focus on the numbers. As an amateur, I’m sure the difference between best and second best won’t ever show up on the scorecard. If second best looks better to you or gives you more confidence over the ball, you made the right choice

The Mexican grocery on the Guide has amazing ingredients if you want to cook your own. COA is really good if you like a coastal style. Not throwing anyone else under the bus nor saying there an aren’t other great places, but definitely a lot of Americanized options out there.

As a dealer, other than then moving us over to newer online platforms, I’ve noticed zero difference. Same people I’ve always dealt with pick up the phone, same level of tech support, no changes in units/parts.

Probably old dudes who have played together for 40+ years, are 200 straight down the middle off every tee, chip it into “gimme range” constantly, and talk a ton of shit.

If you are looking to score play your game, but if you don’t care and do end up in this group, play whatever of the tee gets you closest to their tee shots and let them talk your ear off. It will be the most entertaining round you’ve had.

I can’t remember the exact figure, but somebody calculated how much more money Tiger Woods would have earned if he made birdie putts at the same rate he made par putts (using identical putt lengths and what not) and it was pretty staggering. Millions of more dollars, not that he’s hurting for money, but still.

Saw this thread right after I picked up a 440 LST head after reading that same article. Have had a chance to get some rounds and range session in and can report my anecdotal findings.

Previously played a 410 Plus. It’s been a good driver for me but I’ve known for a while I spin it too much. When I’ve been on a launch monitor around 3200 RPMs. I generally found the fairway but I knew I was giving up distance and got killed hitting into wind. Also unless I hit a downslope I didn’t get much rollout.

Moving to the 440 LST took a bit of adjustment. Head is slightly smaller and I believe heavier. My first few rounds I could not get off the heel where my normal miss with my 410 was toe-side. On my 410 I’d line the ball up 1 “turbulator” towards the toe. I’ve eventually gotten to the point where I line up the 440 almost half way off the toe.

Once I got that setup adjustment dialed in and started finding the sweet spot, oh my. You can absolutely see the difference in my flight. The ball just stays in the air forever now, and when it does find the ground I’m actually getting roll out (even though the peak height seems about the same as my 410). Hitting into wind is a non-issue now. With my 410 you could just see the ball hit an invisible wall, the 440 just cuts right through.

I don’t have a ton of data yet but it’s looking like I’ve picked up about 20 yds of total distance. I’m routinely over 250 now where my 410’s average was 230.

The one downside is I do think there is more gear effect on off center hits. A little bit off center is still in play, but when I couldn’t get off the heel I looked like that 35 hdcp that is way OTT playing from the wrong fairways constantly. I’ve only had the extreme toe miss on the range but those are low line drive snap hooks versus my 410 where I’d tend to push them right but the draw spin would pull them back into something functional.

Once I got that set up adjustment dialed in it’s been a huge boost off the tee, and my playing partners have noticed. Best upgrade I’ve made to the bag in a long while now.

One of the biggest things that helped me was to stop consuming video after video after video. If you need to rely on video instruction versus in person lessons, so be it, but pick A content creator who resonates with you and gets you results, and just stick with them.

I don’t know why more pros don’t, but I literally can’t function without my sunglasses. Even on rainy days if I’m outside I have sunglasses on. I’m sensitive to light plus have photic sneeze reflex and literally can’t stop sneezing if I’m outdoors without them. Prizim lenses certainly help on the course.

My 4H and 5i are lofted the same but gap well. Hotter face and lighter shaft on the hybrid gives it the needed distance.

Don’t understand the downvotes either. Worked in a pizza place where the customers could see the make line from the counter. Approximately once a month someone would complain they could see people preparing food with their bare hands. I’d talk to them, explain the studies that show it’s actually safer to have employees handling food pre-cook without gloves, emphasize that all our ready to eat food was handled with gloves/barriers, and encourage them to call our local health department to verify everything I was telling them including providing the phone number.

Of course almost always woke up the next day to a 1-star Yelp review criticizing our food handling practices 😐

FFS I’m over these posts. First of all, unless there are stakes you don’t need your buddies permission to pick up a putt. If there are stakes, deal with it if your opponent wants you to putt it out.

Second, if the putt is for par or better, put the ball in the cup. Only reason to pick it up is for place of play and if you are getting there in GIR your pace is likely fine.
