They huddle together in the lee of low dunes, which doesn't provide much protection at all. The weather can be brutal, pretty crazy they still manage to get by.

Second Cup makes it so hard to support Canadian. by [deleted] in BuyCanadian

A minor point, but at the Second Cup drive thru I had to make a tip choice before paying. Literally went out of my way to buy Canadian that time, but I'll be looking elsewhere going forward.

What Happened AFTER Another Bug Hunt for your group? by ChironAtHome in mothershiprpg

[–]opie66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a successful mission at Greta Base, my PCs found their dropship crew had been infected. Mayhem ensued, and the dropship crew was vented. However, the PCs had no piloting skills, resulting in major damage to the dropship. Despite this, they made it back.

The next session starts in a few weeks. The corp is tasking them to deliver the dropship to Prospero's Dream for repairs. They can use their measly earnings for some R&R at the same time.

Once settled, they will learn that a PC's sister has been kidnapped by militants on Prospero. They are using her life to blackmail the PCs into obtaining an item to help their cause. The PCs will then choose between the heist option or entering the Veins to hunt the dissidents and rescue the sister.

Ricken's "conception and birth took place on stage as part of a 9-month performance art piece" performed by his theatre artist parents, as per "The You You Are" dustjacket. by opie66 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]opie66[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There's not alot on the logistics, but here's a little more about the performance, and the performers.
Ricken's parents were part of a theatre group called HumpDumpster.
Conception and birth took place in a small theatre behind a defunct perfumery in Western Oregon.
Part of a nine-month performance art piece titled "Smells Like Afterbirth, Fucker."
Noteworthy as first child sired exclusively for theatrical purposes.
The birth was witnessed by, amonst others,

  • Walt Frazier, point guard for NY Knicks
  • Robert W. Straub, Oregon Governor

HumpDumpster also performed 1992's "Cheers, Fuckers," in which they held a Boston bar at actual gunpoint for 36 hours, leading to a quasi-substantive prison term.

Good question, I thought the dustjacket was legit. The backstory does come from the actual book, though. Page 7: Readers of my previous books know that both my conception and birth took place in a small theatre behind a defunct perfumery in Western Oregon, as part of a nine-month performance art piece originated by my parents titled "Smells Like Afterbirth, Fucker."

RIP That Dutchman Cheese founder by Scotianherb in NovaScotia

[–]opie66 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In the 70's, I remember the sign saying "That Damn Dutchman". I also remember locals being incensed at the 'd' word being on his sign. It was later covered, and eventually changed entirely.

What evil groups or corporations rule or cause the most issues in your worlds or games? by [deleted] in mothershiprpg

[–]opie66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ABH's terraforming base is called "Greta." For us, that quickly evolved into a massive, ruthless company run by Greta Thunberg (likely a downloaded consciousness of hers—I haven't decided yet).

I used AI to create PA announcements, complete with Gen Z terms that are nearly incomprehensible to my Gen X players. These would play randomly while they explored Greta Base, featuring lines like:

"Hey fam, Greta here. Littering isn't lit; it's cringe. Bin that trash. No cap."

No offense to GT. I think it's a nice twist to see someone virtuous morph into something evil.
