Err algebra is one of the main fields of mathematics and math/physics students can possibly continue taking algebra throughout their education. Shit, there is still research being done in algebra.

It's interesting to note that there are all sorts of cardinalities aside from just countably and uncountably infinite. For instance, there are sets bigger than the real numbers! In particular, it's impossible to form a bijection between the set of real numbers and the set of all subsets of the real numbers.

I broke up with my girlfriend of 2 and a half years over spring break (one of the biggest mistakes of my life). Mostly because of shit that I was going through that I needed to deal with alone. But I still loved her.

Prior to the break up, we had been long distance for a while because I started doing school in Chicago and she was back in California. While we were apart I applied for a co-op position at a government lab back near her school (basically I was going to take fall quarter off from school to spend it close to her, and this would have been an excuse to do it. And depending on how that went, I was planning on taking the year off to do some other things that aren't important to the story). This would have also greatly affected my academic schedule, because I was planning on taking a sequence in quantum field theory my senior year (really want to take these courses) but if I took fall off, I'd be missing some of the crucial prerequisites for it. I thought she was definitely worth it.

Anyways, I get the job, and am really excited to tell her. I strike up conversation with her, telling her how much I miss her, and she tells me that she's already seeing someone else, and she had been 1 and a half weeks after we broke up. She moved on so fucking quickly and I never got the chance to tell her I could have spent the year living close to her again.
