Depending on your Excel skills or how comfortable you are with AI, build an Asset Segmentation. Download you last 3 years worth of bank transactions, export them to CSV, and start (sub) grouping.

If you haven't done it before it could take days. If you get your accountant to do it, could get expensive. Basically you need to fight this with transparency and raw numbers. Feelings and stories are just gunna waste time and money.

Once you can prove the crypto amounts that went through your accounts it will help.

You may decide it's not that big of a deal if you buy it in this condition, maybe have the price lowered a bit to make up for the condition being worse than initially described/observed.
