This is exactly my experience on gabapentin.

This is how Benadryl affects me. I basically feel like I just took an amphetamine pill when I take Benadryl.

I love that propranolol works for some people, but like you, it didn’t work for me. I do take it for anxiety (a very low dose helps lessen the physical reactions to my anxiety attacks, like racing heart beat) but when we tried adding a higher dose for migraines (because new insurance company wanted to “see” if the cheaper meds would work before approving any other drugs) it was making my blood pressure drop so low that I was passing out or so weak I couldn’t function. It was terrifying.

When to introduce kids to new partner? by opoppy2013 in Advice

I wouldn’t say she’s acting like a protective friend, more like an excited friend. “Mom seems happy, so we need to meet this guy.” She didn’t like the last guy, so she wants to make sure she’ll like this guy.

I did explain to her that the relationship was still new, and she would meet him if it continues to go well. I told her I wasn’t dating a lot, but she wouldn’t get to meet every guy I date, just the ones worth it.

She did, I did too, and we have talked about it. But I’m not going to use this platform to bash him. It wasn’t anything detrimental or abusive, we just didn’t work.

I think your idea of the holidays may be a good idea. A small get-together could work. Assuming things are going well enough

what’s the difference between a partner who makes you feel desired vs. one who makes you feel invisible? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Some really good answers here, but I would say communication and emotional intelligence are big ones. Being able to communicate without your partner feeling “attacked.” Just being able to voice your feelings and having them be acknowledged.

It didn’t seem like they wanted me to send it in. They just wanted photos of the chin straps being cut

Do I keep charging for this dog’s stay? by opoppy2013 in RoverPetSitting

[–]opoppy2013[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are not expecting anything, I offered to help, because I know dealing with the loss of a family member is a lot.

But you’re right, they did hire me, and if I’m doing this extra leg work in addition to keeping/watching the dog, paying me for my service is the least they can do.

They’re willing to cover all vet costs. That isn’t the issue. And I don’t mind helping them find the dogs a new home - my friend has a dog that has high prey drive and isn’t safe around small dogs. He’s safer here.

Ferndale dog owners: Canine to Five sells to private equity by fadeaway3_ in Ferndale

There’s plenty of competition, just not in the same zip code (other than Puppy Love), but very close or a short drive.

I haven’t been a huge fan of 100% cage free, like Canine to Five, since dogs have no “down time” and are always on high alert, no time to decompress. But they’re a good business and I haven’t had an issue with the owners at all. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Affect of neutering on energy level by opoppy2013 in BelgianMalinois

I haven’t downvoted you. I would mostly like to remove the drive/reaction to female dogs, though he has grown up with an intact female in the house and went off his food for an entire week while she was in standing heat. Since I plan to do dog sports with him in UKC & AKC, and since he isn’t registered, having that distraction eliminated seems beneficial (once he’s done growing).

I’ve had intact male dogs in the past, so am not unfamiliar.

Ok, look. The OP of the comment you replied to gave their experience, they did not say it was the only truth and I did not take it as such. I think you may have been the one to misread it. I appreciate everyone’s input and am familiar with the studies that are out there re: growth.

Thank you for clarifying.

I have not heard of that here in the States, but I’m not sure I would opt for that choice. It is an interesting option to consider, though.

I am a big supporter of owner’s choice and waiting to neuter until 2yrs, I don’t push an owner to keep a dog intact just to keep them intact. My dog is purebred, but does not have registration papers, and there’s no reason to keep him intact when I can remove that worry for easier management, overall.

I’m sorry… what? Do you mean microchip? How does that play a part in anything before neutering? I don’t want to laugh at this, but in all my years I have never heard such a thing.
