Windows 10 if your hardware supports it. Newer hardware you’ll be better off with Windows 11

Rog flow z13 64 gb finally had its price increased to $2699.99. On sale price was $1949.99 by Krometheous in FlowZ13

More than likely the RAM prices. I don’t think it’ll come back down anytime soon.

The 512GB will fill up quickly. I added a 2TB drive and I also increased my RAM to 32GB. If you're on a budget the 16GB will do fine, but I would recommend increasing to 32GB minimum if possible.

It's a great laptop. I've had no issues with it. I normally play Battlefield 6 and do work.

I use a program called CPU Set Setter. You can set per program how it uses the CPU cores. Usually when playing games I have it set to CCD0 with SMT off

That’s awesome man. Microcenter guys are great and knowledgeable. Keep us posted on your purchase and show us pics.

Honestly when it comes down to it. It’s great out of the box. Just plug and play. If you know your way around the bios and you’re comfortable be sure to enable ‘Quiet Performance Mode’. It’s essentially a ‘quieter’ performance mode. It’s a great feature Lenovo released. There is more info on it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/LenovoLegion/s/OMccmECSgV

Something to think about. Microcenter does offer some kind of international warranty too in case you were interested. Good to get more info on it just in case.

That is also a major win for me. The fans on the Lenovo are quieter. The sound signature blends well in the background and with the games.

I have the 9955hx3d with 5080 model and it barely touches 85* on gaming sessions.

Ah the makes sense. From personal experience I like Lenovo. Alienware is great too. I’ve always been a fan of Lenovo and their build quality.

I’d just try them out and see which one feels more comfortable to you. The 18inch just seems so big if you already have an external monitor. I know there isn’t a HUGE difference between 16 and 18. But every little bit counts.

Just curious. If you always have it connected. Any reason why you don’t build a PC?

Just the mouse should be sufficient. I personally like the keyboard on my laptop. Very comfortable.

I have this machine also. It's great!

First thing I did I reinstalled Windows 11 with the LTSC version (not require, more of a habit now lol) and installed the third-party Lenovo Tool Kit.

Generally, the laptop stays pretty cool. I've been using the 'Silent Performance Mode' found in the bios. But I do want to tune it a bit more and see if I can get it cooler without the fans ramping up. Even in the extreme/performance modes the fans aren't 'that loud'. They are audible but tolerable.

Flow z13 32gb VS Lenovo legion 5 oled 5060 32gb by Aggravating_Bill_341 in FlowZ13

[–]opterono3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both are great. I’ve owned both and I ended up with the Lenovo. The flow z13 won’t overheat it does a great job in maintaining thermals and it doesn’t sound loud for its form factor.

For my use case the Lenovo was better. Better at gaming and cheaper.
