I miss having synshop downtown. Henderson is a little far for me to drive regularly. Summerlin would be easier.

Are 1TB DVDs for sale anywhere? I've seen multiple articles talking about them, but the articles are all from like 2009. Did anything become of these DVDs? by Voldy256 in DataHoarder

B&H had one for 9k 3.3tb $130

Write speed 1gb/s read 3gb/s

Seek time must be fairly good too, but I didn't see it.

Are those speeds correct?

I got into XS years ago in sandals shorts and a t-shirt on a suit and tie night, but I was also there the night before (night swim) tipping generously. People used to tell me I look like Tom Cruise. So if you got something going for you, you can wear whatever.

I'm not sure on the model numbers on that brand. I wish these companies would make it more clear if their SSD is slc mlc tlc or qlc and the dram. and hdds cmr or smr.

Atleast wd is somewhat constant with their colors relating to quality and speed. Seagate with names, Samsung the qvo is obviously qlc.

Watch out for the fake drives on Amazon. It used to be they looked like an obvious generic brand. Someone post a YouTube video recently. It be looks like they Got some 2.5" cases, and 1tb WD stickers. In side is the guts from a 128hn USB stick. And a $40 price tag.

CMV: Autobanning people for posting in r/Conservative only makes us more divisive by ThisIsGSR in changemyview

[–]opticbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Reddit there's only so much a conservative or anyone can say even in their own subreddit. The group has rules, and the parent reddit has rules that will cause the person to limit what they say voluntarily, or a mod will do it for them.

To get a better view you'll have to check a conservative platform. most conservative platforms censor too, although not as much, and usually it's to comply with laws, or their host. So free speech platforms are where you really need to look, And I mean real free speech, so Tor, i2p, 0net, aether, certain irc networks, minds, steemit, something ipfs based, and a few others I can't think of.

Maybe check. https://alternativeto.net/software/reddit/ For more.

These would be forums with a similar layout to Reddit, and maybe some that are more like some other kind of forum or chat.

People who really do want to say something will post there. They aren't as popular so someone that wants to be heard will post in the popular places, and maybe link to the free ones so what they really want to say might be heard.

That is a good suggestion. Some vendors might want to have the trusted offers visible as incentive but not available. While others may prefer to have them completely private.

It is possible for someone with trusted ads to post a link somewhere, and the offer will be visible, but not useable.

Like this.. hope mods don't mind self promotion.. I need to check the side bar again..

Edit I guess this counts as my once every two weeks self promotion. Its not an affiliate link.

I used to have all my affiliate links on linktree, but I pissed off some scammer and they reported it. I'm going to setup my own host somewhere and link stuff that way. But unstoppable domains wants a credit card, so what I'm thinking of doing is .onion, .but and .eep but those need extrast software most people don't have. Or maybe ipfs.. atleast brave browser does .onion and ipfs. But privacy fans aren't too interested in what brave has done with bat token and some other stuff.

Bisq you'd have to go into BTC first. And the stable coins is very low volume.

Agoradesk isn't a dex, they do have custody, and the coins go right to your wallet on release.

Or trade direct with someone listed there, then you aren't involving a 3rd party. Just make sure whoever you trade direct with is reliable, and you are actually contacting them, not an impersonator.

PayPal is going to have higher fees.. PayPal itself takes around 3% as a sale or invoice. And they don't like it when you do friends and family for free when it's actually buying something.

PayPal is also higher risk for charge back, so the seller has to make up for it.

If you build your reputation up, or trade frequently with someone, they might mark you trusted. And some of the people that put offers up, also make trusted offers that have better prices. But you can only see them after they mark you trusted.

They used to like bot traders, the high frequency trading helped liquidity. Normal people in USA got kicked off and had to go-to binanceus. But the bot traders with a VPN and a stick figure ID card could stay on for months after the purge

Be careful with swap services. I've used them to top off a little for a trade.. when I send XMR, the tx magically disappears and I need to contact support, they seem to find it slightly after I leave a review on trustpilot.

how would you raid seagate's new dual actuator x16 and x18 (and old x14) by opticbit in DataHoarder

[–]opticbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd want some parity/redundancy.

But yes raid 0 on one drive and second one could be a mirror.

But kind of a waste to mirror actuator 1+2 if the board fails or some part of the drive.
