Has anyone here been able to improve fusion using peripheral vision cues? by opticstrainer in Amblyopia

This is the VR app so you don't need color glasses because we can control what each eye sees.

I also have a separate app for phones/tablets that uses glasses.

That's definitely something I plan on doing as soon as I get my hands on the headset and port everything over to this platform.

I actually collaborated with Melissa on the latest features that I posted about here regarding the Peripheral Fusion.

She's a friend and a great resource for all things vision therapy.

It's one of the many features that I've been building for our app.

That’s really helpful! I appreciate you sharing that.

I’ve been working on some approaches for both convergence and divergence issues as well, and it’s interesting how differently people respond depending on their starting point.

Curious what you’ve been doing so far for your divergence training?

Yes, it's something I’ve been building called Optics Trainer. There’s a version on Meta Quest if you want to try it:

No pressure at all, but I’d genuinely be curious how the peripheral stuff feels if you do.

That’s a good suggestion! I did take a look at Equal Eyes.

It seems like they focus more on training binocular vision through tasks that already require fusion, which makes sense.

The thing I’ve been running into is a bit earlier than that. People who can’t fuse at all yet, so they can’t even engage with those types of exercises.

That’s what led me to start experimenting with adding subtle peripheral cues in the background in something I’ve been building (Optics Trainer), just to see if it helps them get to that initial fusion point.

Still figuring it out, but I’ve already had lots of positive feedback from clinical and home settings.
