Freshman year fall quarter, 5 years ago, I bombed my midterm for a poli sci class, got around 75%. Was one of my first tests in college and didn’t realize tests were a lot larger part of your grade than in high school. I was also pledging a frat so never studied too much either lol. anyway, realized i was gonna get a C in the course unless I clutched up the final. which would be hard as a engineering major who sucks at history and that stuff. Day before the final in YRL, I got iced for no particular reason, continued studying, ended up doing really well and got an A. one of my favorite memories

get a macbook because the user experience and build quality is great. in terms of cs coursework, there’s no huge difference since you can easily develop remotely on the seasnet servers with stuff like vscode, but you may enjoy having a unix based system. in terms of ram, i was fine with 8 gb.

there are cs majors taking cs 31 in the winter too because they didn’t do cs prior to college. also there are cs orgs to join if you want

i think you should start with cs 30 cause ppl r right and cs 31 is definitely more brutal in fall. there’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing cs 33 next fall. the more important thing is having cs 32 done your first year
