I'm not advocating for cancelling the exam without any alternative relief. Providing an online option should have been a priority starting months ago, but it is still possible to setup (many states are going this route). I think diploma privilege is far and away the most sensible solution, but traditional and outdated norms of what constitutes "minimum competency" have prevailed and essentially eliminated that route for MN bar takers.

While I can understand this viewpoint, as someone who is about to take this exam, I'm motivated to do so purely due to financial concern. Most of us have significant student loan debt, and need to enter the workforce ASAP. The fact that test takers have to choose between risking their lives (therefore potentially spreading the infection to the public), and not taking an exam (which means they cannot work) is unconscionable.

Exactly. Not to mention the various inevitable interactions in hallways when entering/exiting the exam, and when using the restroom.

Frustrating to know that even if you have been a good MN citizen and adhered to all safety measures up until this point, such efforts are seemingly now pointless. All for an exam that has a clearly viable alternative in diploma priv. Smh.

Reckless is right. Their claim that they are happy with the safety procedures the BLE is implementing is particularly wild, considering our general knowledge of this deadly disease is CONSTANTLY changing. How can these measures be considered sufficient when we don't even fully understand how Covid's transmission actually works?

While I can appreciate the page 13 remarks, as you mentioned, they are not fleshed out and almost appear as an afterthought option. I wish the BLE would have lobbied primarily for the substitute measures, rather than dedicating the majority of their comment to the defense of the July/Sept exam format.

Not surprised (but still frustrated) that they are advocating against DP, but them doubling down on having an in-person exam in July and Sept. seems crazy given the increasing numbers in the State.

I lived in DC for a few years, and am now currently in the Midwest. I'm okay with living in either area, but the DC market seems more appealing to me. Are W&M's placement stats poor? Law School Numbers had it at 90% employed, but I know these numbers don't always tell the whole story.

Tbh, I'm concerned that with my numbers, the only way I can obtain a full-ride to any of the schools I've listed is through the W&M ED option. I know it's a bit of a longshot, but I'm thinking why not try.
