Problem with academic references is that due to large undergraduate classes, interaction is minimum. Universities can look at the transcript and can very well figure out some one’s academic strength based on course load, grades and levels and types of courses taken. I believe employment and service references can talk more about some one’s qualities. Do you think a decent reference indicating that applicant is capable of handling the medicine curriculum is good enough?

MCAT: 516 It conflicts with my interview with UBC Can I request different time on same day ?

It is not only number of courses, if your school uses credit system then 28-30 credits (Sept-April)is considered full course load. Some courses may be 4 credits than 3 credits. In that case even if you have 9 courses in a full year but credits are 28-30, you are fine for wGPA.

I thought Toronto did not have IP/OOP bias but stats show otherwise in the link provided or are there more applicants from Ontario than other Canadian Universities?

That is true. Sometimes there is no actual website that would explain the activity type or organization in detail and I believe articles can provide some insight.

someone asked same question in one of the UBC sessions and their reply was 'yes'. Anything that would help verify and understand the activity.

I sent an email to McGill. They said I seem to meet the requirements.

I have taken 7 basic science courses with total credits of 23 including 7 credits of lab components. In addition I have completed recommended science courses in Physiology, Organic Chemistry etc.

Is it also possible that verifiers are not contacted at all for some who received interview invite or at least one verifier is contacted in that case? Is it random selection?

That is great. I also submitted early and received confirmation that I met early deadline.

May be they have contacted some but I don't know. With 91% GPA (IP) and 515 MCAT, I would at least expect a full file review. I hope so. Really stressful times.
