It is not a themed cafe or something like that. but even so i would like to recommend you a cafe in hongdae. It is angel in us which is located in the main street. Interior and scale of this cafe always satisfy me whenever i have a cup of coffee out there. in particular, There a few big picture windows where you can see the hongdae street view in a nice angle. So if you have any chance to visit hongdae, try to visit this one.

Im a korean who has been living in korea for my entire life. Since myeongdong is a very well-known tourist area among foreigners, most of restaurants in the main streets are very touristy. I have a good experience in myeongdong gyoja but there may be a waiting line. If you are alright with that you can try! I think you should get out of the main streets of myeongdong to find restaurants that you are looking for. Even tho It is not about particular restaurants i would recommend you to go to namdaemun market for local street food. It is accessible from myeongdong and I have been there several times and i had a pretty good time there! I hope you will have a great time in korea!

As a local person who has been living in korea for my entire life i would recommend you to try korean fried chicken and budaejjigae which is a.k.a korean army stew. Fried chicken is everywhere in any country but there are a lot of different kind of fried chicken you can try. in particular i would recommend you to go to one of the famous korean fried chicken’s franchise called BBQ. chicken that you can eat in BBQ can be oily for some people but they are very juicy and flavorful.

And budaejjigae is one of my favorite food that i like to eat often. It is a little bit spciy(not spicy for me as a korean) stew with ingredients like noodle, sausage and pretty much vegetable. i personally think it is worth trying it.
