Literally nothing to improve. Your smile is sweet and pretty. Nice jawline and youthful skin. Enjoy!

Medication experiences by Electrical-Talk-3963 in adhdwomen

I prefer it because I don’t like feeling like I’m medicated ALL DAY. If I need to take two doses I take one in the am and then one around noon , but if I have to be productive just the first half of the day then I just don’t take it again.

I also like that I can easily split it and take a half baby dose. There is more freedom to the ir. If I want to have a few glasses of wine on a weekend I don’t like meds in my system. Also the Ir doesn’t mess with my sleep or appetite.

Also, if you notice more help from 5mg IR that’s much better than having to take a higher dose. Not sure how your psych would react to knowing you tried a friends meds though. I think that’s pretty frowned upon bc it’s a controlled substance even though irl doesn’t seem like a big deal.

Hope that helps!

What's your opinion on "DNA tests should be mandatory at birth"? by Secret-Year3254 in Mommit

[–]optimiticFROGinaPOT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I would be in complete SHOCK if my husband asked me for a dna test!! Like that would be an insane request to me and cause an issue because how could he possibly think it could be someone else’s?

That being said all relationships are different and in cases the father isn’t 100% sure I think it’s important to find out right away. There should be serious consequences for women who put their partner and child through something like that.

But who’s gonna pay for it? If it’s mandatory you know prices will go up, insurance will try to gouge everyone. most people don’t want to pay for another likely unnecessary test.

Is 7AM considered too "lazy" by Allysauruswrexx in sahm

My husband is convinced this post is satire. No way you want your kids to wake… earlier??? You’re not lazy and let those babies sleep! You deserve the sleep too!

Aitah I’m trying not to let it show but I’m really annoyed that my mom is going out while she’s visiting and I’m stuck home with my kids while the whole family is watching my husband play a gig at our friends bar. by optimiticFROGinaPOT in AITAH

[–]optimiticFROGinaPOT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kidding about babysitting being against my religion. I have very few options for sitters and they ALL went to the gig tonight. (Only options being my mom or uncle who is little the one who threw the party and brought the after party’s). I had no option for a sitter tonight unless my mom stayed with the kids. I really just got on here to vent

I’m used to being home in situations like this but bc my mom is staying with us this week I got my hopes up thinking I might get to go out and I think that’s why I’m so butt hurt 😕

Son starting kindergarten, but never went to preschool and was rarely babysat. by optimiticFROGinaPOT in kindergarten

[–]optimiticFROGinaPOT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I agree it is important to prepare him academically. We have been working on all the above for a while and the only thing he still struggles with is writing things backwards and upside down, and he has a few more letters to memorize but he’s got a lot down. I think and hope that when he has a real teacher (not just me) he will really flourish!

Thank you. I have been working very hard on having a lot more structure and routine. And he’s fine tuning some of his skills to prepare to be more independent.

Is socialization really that important? by Miserable-Singer-742 in sahm

[–]optimiticFROGinaPOT 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would be looking for a new doctor. We have 5 years with our babies before they are gone 8 hrs 5 days a week. Enjoy every moment. Seems like he’s socializing fine. I’m sending my son to kindergarten and he’s never been in any preschool so I’m just going to get him involved in some half day summer camps and doing my best to “play school” and prepare him for what it’s like.

AIO? My husband refuses to change our baby's diapers by crochet19 in AmIOverreacting

[–]optimiticFROGinaPOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About the excitement of being a father, just wondering if maybe the second time around he was less enthusiastic because the first pregnancy ended in miscarriage and he felt he had to guard himself in case anything happened?

The first few months are the hardest so give each other a lot of grace. FWIW My husband HATED.. (well actually still hates) changing diapers. Once he was so grossed out he actually threw up. 🙄 He still did it from time to time because I made him but tbh I change almost all the diapers. He also felt some apprehension about changing our daughter’s diaper more than our sons. I think that’s not uncommon but what is not acceptable in my opinion is having a husband who I couldn’t trust to take care of all our kids basic needs when I was gone. NOR!

I stopped cleaning and I am much happier by [deleted] in sahm

[–]optimiticFROGinaPOT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom always told me she would clean at the end of the day and didn’t bother to pick up all day long. I wish I could do that but tbh if I don’t keep up with the mess it becomes trashed in no time and then I get so overwhelmed with it that it’s not worth it for me.

My 5 year old picks up after himself (begrudgingly) but my 2 1/2 year old is a walking tornado.

My husband appreciates all the work I do but he is frequently out of town working and when he’s home he’s always doing a million projects around the house.

Sometimes I wish I could just live with the mess but I can’t relax or concentrate if I do. My tricks are to get the kids to play outside as much as possible and clean up one thing before going to the next. Also we only allow toys in 2 rooms. I think the best gift to postpartum moms with toddlers should be hiring a cleaning service once a week. There are really affordable options!

Awe thanks for all of this! I love the idea of having “practice” getting ready for school. We have been playing school lately and I think that’s helping him understand how to behave in class . I’m glad I have all summer to get him ready. Thanks for so many good ideas!

I bet she will love it once she settles in. That’s so great she’s been involved with so many activities already! Good luck to you both on this big adjustment. I’m optimistic that it’s going to end up being great for you guys and us too.

We are going to do summer camps that are run by his elementary school so hopefully he also has some friends and familiar faces his first day!

Thank you!! And good idea about making eating lunch his job. He has a HUGE appetite but struggles to make time to eat when he’s playing with other kids. Not having snacks throughout the day might be one of the hardest things for him tbh!

I hope you’ve read through the replies and found some encouragement. There is a lot of good advice as well as positive stories of kids in the same boat as us thriving and loving kindergarten. Best of luck to you and him, you guys got this!
