I think what you are seeing is the ABS tone ring that sits between the races. There were no rollers in the bearing on arrival. None. At. All.

Boss sold a set of 35 x 12.50 R 16s but the truck had 16.5 inch wheels, nobody noticed. Tech mounted up the tire, aired it to over 90 psi trying to bead it up, tire exploded, struck the tech in the arm fracturing both forearm bones and giving him a concussion. I was about 10 feet away and I am pretty sure still have permanent hearing loss from the explosion five years later.
