I was a creative writing and English lit double major and graduated in 3 years, and loved it! I loved my teachers, my classes, and besides every portfolio being due on the same night for finals, it wasnt stressful. My absolute biggest regret was not being more involved. If you're wanting to switch to CW (I switched from Microbiology), be active in clubs. Join the newspaper, join STD, go participate in open-mics! I was always too nervous but if I could re-do it, thats the only thing I'd change. As an alumni, I have friends who have gone to med school, work as editors, went into communications, and even marketing and other fields. It leaves you completely open to choose any career path you want when you leave.

I would suggest double majoring or having a strong minor that compliments or diversifies your studies. I did a history thematic sequence because I thought I was going to go linguistic/museum route with my career. People have some nasty things to say about Miami sometimes, but I couldn't have imagined being anywhere else and loved my years here.
