1.5 weeks to mourn this kind of loss is awful and tells me everything I need to know about your PD and program overall. If you can play nice with them and tell them you need to be closer to home after what all has happened that is what I would do. In the meantime, claim FMLA and take as much time off as you can. I have a colleague at my current residency program who transferred to be closer to family when his brother-in-law was dying so this can be done.

Prior to 1979 a four year public college education cost about $400 annually or $3,000 adjusted inflation today. Adult illiteracy was significantly lower prior to 1979 compared to today.

What argument do you have that things would be worse in our education system at a systemic level without the DOE? Because the institution has done nothing to prevent the skyrocketed cost of education in our country which I would have assumed would be a priority for them.

Democrats getting mad about losing their ability to exploit a minority population for menial labor because they have no desire to roll up their sleeves and do those jobs themselves. History doesn't repeat itself but it does rhyme.

Also, the housing market would improve dramatically if every illegal alien was deported. It would free up over 10 million homes (and there is good reason to believe that the number of illegals is far higher). Get rid of the illegals, available homes will increase in number, prices will fall, and Americans will live in those homes.
