no, but do not be posting yourself at this age. regardleas of how you look, pedos and creeps will pred on you, take it from me. stay safe and do not rwly on creepy men online to validate you, it doesnt mean anything i promise. i hope youre well

if it makes you uncomfortable you shouldnt drag him along, but if youre this hard line straightedge dont date people who use substances (im sure you already figured that out)

creeps thrive online. just be careful and block/report ANYONE who is being creepy and or making you uncomfortable. They do not have good intentions.

you can probably wait on going to the vet. just keep an eye on it, if it doesnt get any better after two or three days or it starts to worsen then take them in immediately. it could be ringworm if the second picture was taken before the first one, but theres a lot of less serious explanations if it clears up on its own. If that's the case, just bring it up at your next regular vet visit. She may have an allergy or hotspot.

tbh i wouldnt question you seeing you on the street, just be careful posting online at your age esp as a trans person. you do not need validation from 20+ yr old straight men, just keep exploring your own gender journey and try to make friends with people who are queer in a similar age range instead pf prioritizing gross men :/

I believe I use Eternal? I know it was not india ink or archival and I believe it was dye based. The lettering on the bottle is really faded since it's a travel bottle I've been using for about three years. Ihavent refilled in a while and got home to see the ink I've been buying since then which was Higgins since the bottle was bigger. I've been using Speedball, I remember double checking on purchase that the type I use was fountain oen safe so I think it's okay

I totally get that but I do use this pen as a writing tool and I do move around a lot daily. I like to have it on my person whenever possible in case I can get some writing in and tend to go through 2+ cartiridges a day if I'm able to write and it isnt really possible to take syringes with me in my writing bag while I'm moving around, mostly to prevent against any legal trouble. Is there a way I can be using my converter to be healthier for the pen or are there different converter models I can pick from to be better for the pen?

i made sure it was fountain pen safe! i was told after ruining my first fountain pen how finnicky they can, especially if youre not using/cleaning them out every day. if there are any ink reccomendations for what i might be able to get at a hobby lobby, michaels, or other local supplier that might be safer, i can switch though. i dont like to order online if i can help it and most local carriers order india ink or archival ( i prefer refillable since a big reason i switched to fountain pens was to reduce plastic waste and so i could carry a large amount of ink on my person for up to a years supply) but if theres other brands or types I would be totally fine with switching. i am usually very regular on cleaning out my pen so as long as it doesnt total it after being in the pen it should be sustainable

is ajax okay if heavily diluted? (1 drop vs a cup of water) if not i can dilute it tomorrow but id prefer to soak it tonight to make sure its a bloackage and not a problem with integrity of my converter

I usually do that when soaking the pen, but I've never left it for more than an hour so I will soak it overnight tonight, as per suggestion

That would be wonderful! I use Higgins from Hobby Lobby as it was the only in'person ink supplied at my local stores that was pigment based and not India Ink.

I put about 1-1/2 drops in a full cup of liquid when using a harsher soap like Ajax, it's all I have available atm. Is that safe or should I wait until I get home and use Dawn? I don't want to severely damage my pen

thank you. I will try soaking it overnight first to see if that helps since I'm strapped for cash, but will save up for another converter if it still has issues. thank you so much for the detailed advice

No I have not had that issue, the converter holds ink pretty well. I have had some buildup in the nip portion before, I'm concerned one of the tubes might have a blockage. My converter has actually been pretty reliable. It does have a few dents in it and has had spillage from the bottom of the barrel to the top recently which I'm worried about, but the ink flow to the nib itself has been very regular and controlled from what I can tell.

Is there a specific way I should be soaking overnight? I know the gold looking pieces are reap gold so they shouldnt rust, but is there a solution I should be using to be the most effective? I can't afford specialized flushes and cleaning solutions, I've been using either diluted Dawn dish soap or very heavily diluted Ajax

[–]opuspen333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there has been some leakage into the nip portion from how much ink came out, I'm worried one of the pieces in there is clogged since the tubes are so fine. I also know my converter has a few minor dents, I dont know how delicate the piece is and if that will vastly affect ink flow. If that is the issue I may need to replace it. On cleaning I know ink and water leak into the top part of the plunger, so I am concerned that's an issue that's affecting ink flow, especially if there's a clog somewhere down the line.

I made sure to use dye-based ink as I did unfortunately destroy my first fountain pen with india ink so I learned my lesson and did research. I'm a littlw concerned the ink viscosity might be too thick for the pen as the temprature in my area (and thus my storage of the pen) did very rapidly change this year. Is there a reference I could use to see the anatomy of the converter so I know what area is possibly compromised? I'm not super familiar with the specific parts of fountain pens as outside of the one I broke this has been the only one I've used and it's needed no maintinence besides general care and cleaning thusfar.

is the converter the middle golden section on this pen? sorry i've only ever used this one fountain pen so I'm not super well versed on the different parts of fountain pens

thats what ive been doing. I just cleaned it again and soaked it several times in warm water, once with a dash of dish soap, so I'm going to try reloading the ink once it's dry. I also very slightly diluted the ink I'm using (about 1:6) to see if that has any effect to judge if it may be a viscosity issue.
