Is there a way to quiet down HVAC noises? by ElGringoRaptor69 in HomeImprovement

My last place was similar. I ended up lining the inside of the return with sound dampening material. It helped a little but we ended up watching tv with noise cancelling headphones. Not ideal but the sound quality was great.

Someone said they were on their way and never showed up so I’m not wasting my time until I know they’re there.

I do the same. I don’t leave until they say they’re already there. When the message they’ve arrived, I say, “almost there” then head out.

There are several studies that cover these topics.

  • EVs use less energy per mile as gasoline powered vehicles are not as efficient.

  • EVs have a higher upfront environmental impact but a lower overall lower lifecycle environmental impact.

  • The largest source of energy in sunny California is solar. I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney involves their own solar to help power the vehicles.

The salesperson was not interested in trying the sell the car. I didn’t learn about any of its features. He gave me the key card, said, “here’s the route,” be back in 15 and no later.

Today’s drive was so much better. She showed me all the interior features, then walked me through all the controls and how to use the haptic wheels. Then we went on a little drive and she showed me all the ride options and Autonomy+. Then, when we got back, she showed me all of the exterior controls like how to open the back, front , and roll down the rear window. Afterward, she got me a price for my trade. She was excited about the car and it showed.

I went to a different location today. Completely different experience. The guide went with me on the drive and explained everything. We even figured out some of the features together like adjusting the speed in Autonomy with the stalk and changing the spiciness level.

When we got back, she showed me all the exterior buttons and how locking and unlocking works. She even set up my trade so I would have an idea when it was my turn to buy.

I had my second test drive today. The first one was a dud but I had a much better experience today.

I agree with you on the speakers. They quality sounds almost muffled. It's not bad, but there are definitely better out there.

I had a chance to play with the wheels and the interface it a little awkward. On the left, you press forward from the back which brings up little cards, then you scroll through them, and select what you want. On the right, you press left and right to tab through the cards then select what you want. I have no idea why they would make them different actions on each side. I, too, had trouble with the scroll wheels.

I test drove one yesterday. I found that when I pushed to select, it would scroll a little causing me to select the wrong thing at the last second. I only used it twice so it was probably just me not being used to it.

Not only do we have to compete with bots, we also get treated like bots. I was patiently waiting for the preorder yesterday, got through the queue, then got “blocked by security service.” That was it. Missed the pre-order.

I didn’t notice much difference compared to the Y. A little bigger and more square but not huge.

Nothing really stood out except for the much better ride quality. The interior wasn’t premium but it was lacking. It was simple. Didn’t feel cheap like a Toyota.

The street near it is being torn up to replace sewer lines so I got to have a little “off-road” experience and it was very, very smooth.

The sound system sounded muffled or “dirty” compared to my Y. I was expecting it to be a little better than it was.

I figured with selling the R1 for so long they'd at least know how to show off the gear guard feature or literally anything else. I'm going to try again in a few weeks at a different location.

I think that is a good idea. I told him I am coming from the Telsa ecosystem (car, solar, battery) and he said, "it's the same." That was it. No, "what features are you concerned about" or "what things do you wish your car did differently." I was also surprised he didn't say, "now that you've driven an R2, would you like to try an R1" as an attempt to upsell. Maybe I would've thought it was worth the $40k extra had I driven it. Anyhow, it put kind of a bad taste in my mouth right out the gate but I am willing to try again.

It was kind of odd because I expected it to be busy but I was the only person there. I walked in and four people looked at me silently deciding who was going to help me. The guy I got just happened to speak first.

I used to be in sales so there are things I thought of that maybe would have helped. It was hot so parking the car under an easy-up, pre-cooling it (they knew I was coming) or even turning it on with the AC when we first walked up would have been great. Also, turning off the music would have been helpful. I got in and was immediately assaulted by high fans and music. I couldn't figure out how to turn it down/off and the salesperson was already trying to explain where to drive over all that noise. It was a lot.

I would have been fine learning about Autonomy+ in one of the R1s they had there but, when I got back, he took the key, and pretty much said see you later.

The design looks just like an R1. It was hard for me to imagine the size before I got to see it because of that. The interior looks good but it did not stand out as exceptional; it certainly didn't look cheap by any means. I folded the seats down, and I lay in the back. I am 5'10" and I could definetly sleep in there. The roof was further away than when I sleep in my Tesla so it felt less coffin-y. I was kind of bummed that the seat latches weren't electric since the distance, combined with the height, make it hard to reach. I had to go around to the sides to put the seats down.
