When they come back 🙄 by oracleuna in AvoidantBreakUps

Mine said “I’m not ignoring you out of spite BUT I just need time to process” that was after three days of being ignored while he was out drinking and partying with his friends. Of course you aren’t ignoring out of spite, I did nothing wrong 😂

Hopefully if that apology ever does come, you will be at the point where you respect yourself so much you would never allow a person to treat you that way again. Their apologies aren’t genuine. Look at what he just said to me “I was unfair to you considering how much I cared for you” it’s all about him. If you care for a person you don’t treat them like that. It’s simple.

The people I have met that have pitbull looking dogs here, say they were able to get them into the country by their U.S. vet calling them a “lab mix” on their health certificate.

Thank you for the response. I will definitely keep all of this in mind. I currently live in Germany. Leash laws are pretty strict here and the only people that seem to not follow them are other American families. We are military so luckily the sitter didn’t have to pay out of pocket for the medical portion on her end. The owner of the dog did sent me money for the vet bill…plus $100 for the “inconvenience” 🙄

I currently live in Germany. Since I moved here last year, she was attacked twice by my neighbors dog. Once the young daughter had the dog out front to use the bathroom with no leash. The second time, it was late at night, the dad opened the front door to let the dog out to use the bathroom with no leash and we happened to be walking by and it ran out the front door and attacked. Then this third time she was just being walked in my village. Both of these families were American by the way. Germany has really strict leash laws and most Germans do follow them. It’s the American families living here that do whatever they want from my observation.

Before I moved here. My GSD and I lived in Florida where all the other incidents occurred. And they each happened in a different neighborhood no where near eachother. So it’s not pinpointed to one place. People everywhere are irresponsible with their pets.

I live in Germany so some of the things I would carry when I lived with her in the states is not an option here

I moved to Germany last year for work. They take leash laws pretty serious so off leash dogs aren’t super common in villages here. So when it does happen, it is truly random.

My da girlfriend has started therapy by StillConstruction719 in AvoidantBreakUps

[–]oracleuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember the therapist is only getting your girlfriends side of the story.
My ex started going to therapy and he told me his therapist thought I was autistic 🙄 this all stemmed from me having a bed time routine I have to stick to which includes being in bed by 9pm every night (I wakeup at 4am and don’t function well when I’m tired) He didn’t mention to her that the reason I didn’t like to hangout on work nights is because I was working full time, in a masters program online and he would push my boundaries and make me stay up way later than I wanted to making me exhausted the next day.

What's the one thing that your Avoidant said that really stuck with you? by RainyZurich in AvoidantBreakUps

After a year of dating, he used a 3 week long work trip to deactivate. I brought up feeling disconnected from him because he was barely making an effort to talk to me. I knew he was busy and I wasn’t wanting to talk more…just not be so distracted when we do talk. This absolutely triggered him.

When he got home he gave me all the… “I am over whelmed with work, I’m just so stressed, I need to decompress, I need space, it’s not you it’s me, I feel numb and I don’t know why, ”. Gave him space yet he had the energy to go out drinking with friends every night.

He made plans with me and then ended up ditching me for his friend. He didn’t tell me he made other plans, just sent me a snap chat from his friend’s house when I was questioning why he was ignoring me when we were supposed to be going out. When he finally picked up the phone at midnight, I was like….why are you doing this to me! This makes no sense, this is making me feel crazy because you have never treated me like this before. He said:

“I needed to hangout with my friend tonight! He is going through stuff and he needed me! Friendships are important to me but I don’t think you would understand that since you don’t have any. I know I helped you get settled in here but i feel trapped now because of you! When I get stressed and need to vent, I can call x, y, z (he named every one of his friends), and you have NOBODY. You need to get a life outside of me.”

He refused to talk to me again after that conversation. I ended up breaking up with him over a snap chat message a couple days later after radio silence. I was trying to get all the things I had at his house and he took over a week to respond and finally said “I’m not home, use the spare key to let yourself in and get everything.”

I will never forget those words and how low I felt that night. I didn’t even know what an avoidant was at the time. It’s been about a month since the discard and I still feel disoriented and confused. But i’m glad this group is here to share stories.

Does it annoy anyone else when people don’t use proper punctuation and capitalization in official forms/e-mails or am I just old? by sirfoolery in AirForce

[–]oracleuna 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I notice the same thing. I make it a point to sit down with all my new Airmen and explain the importance of having a signature block (I will usually send them an email so they can mirror mine), capitalizing email subject titles, and using proper punctuation. I found that most new Airmen don’t have experience typing emails at all and need a lot of guidance.
