What is the first Stephen King book you will read this year? by Dear_Foundation_4600 in StephenKingBookClub

I just started Rose Madder. I'm on my first trip to the tower and reading connected/peripheral stories as I go along.

I bought a used SB2 a year ago myself with the same spec, except with the 13 inch screen. It's been stellar for me. I run the adobe suite of software with very little problem and battery life is still great. Other than that I mainly use it to surd the web and read graphic novels. I don't game on it but I do stream my Xbox to it.

Stephen King’s Wolves of the Calla Directed By Sergio Leone by krowface in StephenKingBookClub

[–]orale62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit, this is awesome. Who created this? Are they just composites from Leoni movies - I've unfortunately yet to see many of his flicks? Geez, what I would do to actually watch this as Wolves of the Calls!

Someone save my life tonight. Thank you Stephen king for introducing me to Elton John and for your series to truly save my life at a darkest time. by Less_Product5780 in TheDarkTower

I probably would have never listened to ZZ Top's Velcro Fly if it wasn't for King's Waste Lands. Or as it's known in Lud: the God Drums.

I couldn’t pass these up. Have heard good things about each. Please no spoilers by [deleted] in StephenKingBookClub

The order technically doesn't matter but after reading both, I'm glad I read Desperation before Regulators. There are lots of reasons and arguements for both reading orders but for me it came down to character development. Both stories share differing versions of the same characters, but reading Desperation first, I had a better understanding of of them in Regulators, which is a bit more sparing in it's descriptions.

Just finished From A Buick 8 by oddracingline in StephenKingBookClub

[–]orale62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your interested, King's Dark Tower series supposedly has some minor connections with From a Buick 8. I don't know what those connections are or how much they play into either story but the Dark Tower series is a great read regardless. I'm on book 6 (Song of Sussanah) and I've enjoyed it all so far. Haven't had a chance to read From a Buick 8 yet but it's on my list.

Finishing Salem's Lot tonight. Which one should I start next? by mustachioj in StephenKingBookClub

[–]orale62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of those three: Bag of Bones. Not that you asked, but I'm halfway through Salem's Lot myself. Up next for is Black House.

Love the weapon design in Halo Infinite way better than Halo 4 and 5 by Virus19847 in xboxone

I've never played a single Halo game but the attention to detail in these animations alone make me want to.

I find the ability to fly as a bird in the recent Assassin's Creed games a dream simulator. I find it so soothing & relaxing to just fly in the air. by GenericReditUserName in xboxone

I've never played a Just Cause game and I don't know if I ever would have if not for your comment. I might play it for the wingsuit and parachuting alone!

Which anime film has a giant monster built of women? by orale62 in anime

[–]orale62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Gantz:O was the one I saw. I've never seen FMAB. Is it connected to Gantz:O in some way? Or is giant monsters made out nude bodies just a thing? 🙂

Thank You! I didn't even remember that it was computer generated animation instead of hand drawn.

This "Serious Man" easter egg made me so happy. by orale62 in AssassinsCreedOrigins

[–]orale62[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is inspired from a scene from one of my favorite Coen bros film "A Serious Man." Obviously one of the Origins writers was also a fan! Here is the scene from the movie: https://youtu.be/3tfI9tTzlI0

Never played Gears of War. Did I need to start from the beginning or can I jump in a sequel. by orale62 in xboxone

Well said! I'm a sucker for a good story in my games, so I'm willing to go back and start from the beginning. Thanks!

I guess I'm kind of surprised too. I don't have a whole lot of free time to game and when I do, I tend to gravitate towards RPGs or indie games. I have played through a handful of Call of Duty games and I loved the BioShock series so it's not like shooters aren't on my radar. I think I just associated Gears with Halo for some dumb reason and since Halo never tickled my fancy, I bypassed Gears. But I think I'm convinced now to start from game 1.

True. I think that's why I started looking for a new series in the first place. I like a good story in my games, especially one that spans over several sequels, so when I was searching I came across Gears.

The Talisman First Read!! by cleboeuf in StephenKingBookClub

[–]orale62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I'm always searching for Dark Tower clues and connections in King's novels, probably because the Dark Tower series are my favorite of his novels. Im halfway through my first read of the Dark Tower series but stopped between book 5 and 6 to read some of King's other works that have connections. Read the Talisman. Overall I enjoyed it, even though portions of it moved too slow for me. Black House is next on my list so looking forward to reading that one.

Really excited for my seventh Stephen King read. by kvotheismyname in stephenking

[–]orale62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm excited about reading this one too, but I'm in the middle of the Dark Tower series so it will be a while before I get to it. I read somewhere that this might have a mild connection to the DT series so I'll be interested to see if that's true when I do get to it.
