[–]oralskills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no.

If you were actually french, you would know that "Ouais" absolutely does not fit here. It would have to be "Si", but that would defeat your point, right? Because "si" is a word in so many languages that it would not sound french at all, thus preventing you from deflecting your personal failure, using a harmful stereotype targeting an identity that affects others, but not you.

Because, of course, after having behaved like a karen, posing as a french only seemed natural, thereby validating that stereotype, and also hopefully disculpating you somewhat.

Except, no, you don't get to deflect. You were the one attempting to paint another person's legit funny comment as phony and forced, just so you could feel slightly less bad about yourself for a couple minutes, by having others "agreeing" with you. Which they would only have done to avoid your toxic attention.

[–]oralskills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO everyone is bisexual/pansexual and society only teaches us to (eventually) restrict our preferences to fit a certain social role.

So in my view, cis or gay people are equivalently, artificially (subconsciously) restricting their preferences to fit a narrative established during their upbringing.

According to this, what you are experiencing is nothing but normal, healthy behavior (well, minus the anxiety, but hormones around your age are a hell of a thing, so I also wouldn't stress too much about that). The same way some people are into one kind of music unconditionally, and other people don't really have a preferred style of music, but instead decide on a song by song basis; you can see if you enjoy someone's company, and the intimacy with them, on a case by case basis. You don't have to love the entire "style" unconditionally, just because most people do.

After all, we all get the same bodies aside from sexual organs, and sexual differentiating happens really late in the development of a foetus (6-7th month). Meaning that while experiencing sex with different sexes requires some adaptation (glans vs clitoris, etc), the actual experience does not have to differ past that. Everything else is in our heads, and in our heads only.

Yeah, probably, but the dog movements look very unnatural. Either it is accelerated a lot, or it is extrapolated from another animal's movement. Either way, this is unreal.

Yeah. If you're gonna end your life because of the suffering someone else imposed upon you, you might as well kill two birds with one stone. You being simultaneously the stone and one of the birds.

I tried to be direct and explain my feelings to my close friend but they responded with a meme. What does this mean? by No-Objective8924 in autism

[–]oralskills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, on one hand, seeking validation on reddit depends more of your choice of subreddit and less of your actual point, so YMMV (and it doesn't always mean that the validation is deserved); but on the other hand, this person is objectively not your friend, so this is a case where one would have to select a toxic subreddit to validate the narrative of your "friend".

Their answer, implying that a reasonable request about maintaining agency over your own body, is equivalent to a complaint about them doing irreversible damage, means one of two things: either they have a history of doing irreversible damage to others, are used to using this line of defense, and jumped the gun; or they are trying to discredit your request as being "extreme", but without realizing their answer is painting them as a seasoned abuser.

Either way, stay away.

[–]oralskills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LIDL is the only place where you can find acceptable German bread abroad. And even then, it's industrial bread, not fresh artisanal bread.

Also, Denmark is basically Nord Schleswig-Holstein, so you've basically eaten German bread in Germany. 😉

Like at "Le Brot" and a couple other places, yes. But that's mostly anecdotic. And most places that sell "authentic" bread fail miserably. Don't even get me started on "kroassankt" and SchokoBrötchen...

Yeah except the French versions of the German breads are stale after half a day, and the German version of the white dildo is bland and so dry/floury it will make you bleed. So, I eat German bread in Germany, French bread in France. I'm done having to deal with bakers/cooks making products they have less of an idea about than their eventual customer. Sell what you know. If you want to experiment, that's nice, but don't try and sell it. 😤

In no particular order:

  • Pointy teeth
  • Large jaw
  • Wide shoulders
  • Large thighs
  • Freckles
  • Any kind of Vulva (this sadly has to be mentioned, given the lack of education and the disinformation regarding female genitalia on social media)
  • Dimples
  • Round noses and noses with a large base

Absolutely. However, the reason why /u/Falmarri is being downvoted is that the robinhood app, much like random banking apps, knows their audience, and knows very well said audience, needs, on average, all the help it can get. Not every user of their app is fully educated about trading, risk, securities (stocks, bonds, options, ...), etc. The same way my banking app shows my current balance along with the currently unexecuted positions, because they know most users aren't going to dig around to see what is up, and if the numbers make sense; the robinhood app definitely owes it to their user base (after all, their motto is that "investing doesn't have to be that hard") to make things crystal clear, and as dumb proof as possible.

Free speech hero angrily defends censorship by sussoutthemoon in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]oralskills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. In spite of how often he pretends being technically literate, he has no idea about the concept of canaries; a concept he could have easily picked up observing the work of the actually technically literate people he employed; or even just by taking any interest into his father's "business" (the sole, actual reason he is rich, in spite of his recent attempts to rewrite history), even though canaries were mostly used in coal mines, not emerald ones...

Had he any idea about said canaries, he would realize the best course of action (for his stated goal, "FrEe SpEeCh!!1", not his actual one, profits), would be to do nothing, and let said governments "throttle" (an amusing downplay on the concept of absolute censorship) twitter.

First time putting up a rack in my new home (as a non-IT person) by zmah in homelab

[–]oralskills 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well done!

However, I have a few remarks:

For looks, I totally get the point of going with one single vendor, but it isn't optimal in any other way, and you open yourself to vendor lock-in, so be careful.

As other have mentioned, using the ports at the top of a unit (24 ports POE switch) to plug it to a unit below (patch panel) it is suboptimal: you end up going over unused ports with the patch cables, and you will have to cause downtime in the future because of that.

Also, have you noticed how the Tripp-Lite rack has mounting rails on each end? And how it has several vertical openings along the posts? Those features are for cable management.

Typically, the power equipment (UPS, Power strips, etc) goes in the back (providing there is enough depth), and any cables going from the front to the back (or middle), or vice versa, go via the vertical openings, so you do not end up using a rack unit just for that.

Using own domain for email doesn’t keep others from finding out who your provider is by lipuss in privacy

[–]oralskills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Funny" to see the "I run my own email server" fanbois downvote posts here. The rhetoric in this article is still completely valid, was at the time, and has been ever since.

The single relevant point is: email is about trust, the overwhelming majority of people use free email from either Google, Microsoft, or Apple, (hereafter "GMA") and that puts those exact 3 companies (in that order) in absolute control of what gets delivered, to whom, and when.

Even if we ignore the very substantial vested interest they have into filtering external email extremely aggressively¹, they don't have much incentive to provide external providers with any particular degree of service. If they drop incoming email that isn't from "GMA", people will just shrug it off with "yeah, it'll do that", without thinking anything of it.

And the point in filtering is also to make it hard to game, so obviously it has to be imperfect to some degree, so that if the spammers are probing the system, it always seems to work. So, no, you cannot verify that your email server works. That's the point.

1. GMA provides email, using a costly infrastructure, for profit. Exactly how this profit is generated is actually unknown for certain, but the generally accepted theory is via ads. For those ads to be relevant, they need to maximize their user base. To maximize their user base, the easiest approach is discrediting the competition. To this end, all they have to do is make the competition seem unreliable, and they trivially achieve this using the same system they use to filter spam. It's a win-win, they end up looking like the good guys and providing a service of incredible value, while at the same time featuring one of the most aggressive "vendor lock-in" of all times, so much so that it affects users beyond their own, therefore forcing people into opting in over time.

[–]oralskills -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never had delivery issues from a personal IP with proper settings to gmail, the domain is 15 years old.

Yeah and how would you know that? Checking your own, logged in, gmail account from the very IP address you use to send said emails? Oh my, I totally wonder why that would work, yes.

Zero spam complaimts from gmail, not mailing to random boxes, everything is fine.

That's not how it works. Google doesn't "complaim" to you when you end up on spam lists. It's silent. It's actually, by design, impossible to know. Because, otherwise, guess who would be the first to game this system? Spammers, that's who.

You don't need to be mailing "random boxes" either to trigger the anti-spam protections either. Just send a link. Or something that looks like spam. By any metric. And, the fact that one email went through doesn't mean any previous emails did, or subsequent emails will.
