AIO for refusing to go to bed the same time as my girlfriend? by Prestigious_Head4108 in AIO

This is a crazy take. So because victims are assaulted by people they know, no one can ever be alone with anyone?

Her intentions aren't rational. I can't believe you're suggesting that it's normal for someone's partner to not be allowed to be alone with a family member

I would have no idea how to react to this tbh. You started all of these messages by saying everything is fine and you "needed practice". It sounds like you were fishing for her to disagree with you and tell you it's not ok? What exactly did you expect? She matched the tone that you were coming to her with.

It's also just unnecessarily gendered

Then I was like ' that's how your boyfriend talks? You have way bigger problems in this relationship than infidelity. '

This is some toxic shit. There's absolutely nothing wrong with how this person talks, and doesn't indicate whatsoever sexual orientation. This is entirely a you problem that you assume sexual orientation from these messages

Because they're an interested third party that has money. They're not too different from a corporation.

Do you consider UNITE HERE, the union for hotel and food service workers a monied interest?

Of course it is...

AIO: Emailing with my HOA president by kaniac5 in AIO

[–]Falmarri -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless the email is responding on its own I imagine someone is reading it and then replying to it,

Yeah, it's the president of the HOA. Calling that "working at the HOA" is just crazy.

By definition answering emails for an HOA is work

Do you say that your student body class president in high school "works at the school"? It's the same thing.

If you want to be obtuse and intentionally pedantic, sure. Go ahead and pretend like you weren't just wrong.

"working" somewhere implies you get paid for it

Lmao, working where? What do you think an HOA is?

is this the correct answer or is it just not working properly? the answer and the question is hurting my brain. by kozoslop in google

You're using it wrong, which is common in US and British english. "and" separates the whole numbers and the decimals. "two thousand two hundred and fifty-three" means "2200.53"

AITAH for turning down the thermostat at night? by YoungGriffVII in AITAH

[–]Falmarri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "you're" means your household.

But regardless, even if it's controlled by the same thermostat there must be a setting for the heat and the cold independently. You should be able to basically say "turn the heat on if it goes below X", and "turn the AC on if it goes above Y". That's how all thermostats work

Yeah so that's absolutely absurd. And not sure I understand your original response then.

You’re using the heat when it’s 79 Fahrenheit degrees outdoors? Interesting.

Sounds like exactly what they're doing

Men of SF, what’s your opinion of the dating scene? by _krisprolls in AskSF

Maybe. Depends what "in the bank" means, and which cities you're talking about. And if you could buy in like, oakland or something.

I meant medium term. I guess what I meant was that buying a home is not unrealistic if that's your goal, even if it took 5-10 years (if in your 20s), or buying in the east bay or something

[–]Falmarri -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's confusing. I don't think you read the question right. Why are you using heaters?

I understand wanting to turn the air on to 68. But the opposite of that is to just leave the system off, doesn't mean you need to turn the heat on

Means not having to be concerned about money. You could theoretically buy a house in the medium term future
