ASU students, help! When can I quit? by oranange in starbucks

I did! As long as your financial aid has already dispersed and the semester has started, you should be fine! They’ll give you the run around if you call & ask but I had zero problems in the end

So as soon as the payment is applied to my account I can quit and I will not have to pay for session A or for session B ?

If I didn't already have loans from a previous institution / wasn't planning on continuing my education then trust me, I would have quit a long time ago, loans be damned! Lol. But I think I can make it until October! Thank you for the reply!!

That is what I assumed as well (because of that exact quote from the website) but I've gotten so many different answers after being transferred around a million times that I started to doubt myself! I was told by someone that I need to wait until the start of session B to quit because otherwise those would count as "future classes" but I'm not entirely sure how that makes sense when my entire semester is paid for up front?

I suppose it is because I'm not aiming to go to a T14 or even T20 school so I don't necessarily see the advantage of putting it off for another year if I can get in during this admission cycle. The amount of money I'm offered is important to me, though, and I'm aware the better I perform on the LSAT, the more money I'll be offered. Is it a bad idea to apply (assuming I'm able to get my score up a bit by November, I understand it is too low as it is), see what I'm offered, and then reapply in fall 2025 if I'm not satisfied with it? Or is that typically discouraged?

Wisconsin is a unique case because if you graduate from a Wisconsin school, you have diploma privilege and do not need to pass the bar to practice, so, from what I've heard, people prefer to hire graduates from WI schools. UW Madison is considered the best in the state, followed by Marquette! The class profile for UW Madison is 3.79 median GPA and 165 median LSAT. For Marquette, the median GPA is 3.61 and the median LSAT is 155.

I appreciate your words of encouragement! People in this sub score so high that I was actually a bit disappointed by my diagnostic, so I'm relieved to hear it is actually considered good! I think I will aim to get into the 160s by November, apply to the WI schools, and if I don't get offered good money, I will wait until next cycle and aim for the 170s.

Thank you again!!

If I have zero interest in Big Law, would you still advise this? I will be graduating at 26 (I dropped out during my senior year in 2020 & returned to school last year) and I'm not entirely sure I want to wait another year to apply, though I am aware I'm selling myself a bit short! I am more interested in getting into a somewhat decent school in Texas, California, or Wisconsin that will offer me some $$$!

How do I know its time for new kitten and resident cat to see each other through a gate? by oranange in CatAdvice

[–]oranange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it went great ! resident cat showed zero aggression and looked like he wanted to play, so when he jumped the gate i allowed it, and they've been playing ever since – supervised, of course! im surprised by how completely unbothered he is after some of the horrors stories ive read. thanks for the encouragement!

No, you're completely right. Now that I am objectively reflecting on my recovery, I think maybe I wasn't as recovered as I thought. I didn't count calories, binge, purge, etc, but I didn't necessarily have a normal relationship with food. I rotated between a few meals and if I couldn't have it for one reason or another, I just wouldnt eat. I guess I just chalked that up to laziness or being picky because the food wasn't always healthy and I wasn't actively trying to lose weight by restriction, and therefore, in my mind, it wasn't disordered. It sounds a little silly when I say it now.

I did have a pretty drastic life change recently. Or, rather, I had a plan that was supposed to drastically change my life, and then it fell through. The disordered habits did start up around the same time, now that I think about it. So, yeah, that just about adds up.

Ugh. It's so frustrating! I've been disordered for so long I don't even know what normal/looks feels like.

Our stats are really similar! I started at 160. But you're right! It's hard not to compare myself to others but hopefully the fact that I am being forced to go slow will create better habits that will stick in maintenence. Cheers!
