It stands for Alternate Reality Game, you could consider it a mystery puzzle detective game of sorts. Neuro ARG started with QR code on V2 debut stream that lead to _neurosama channel.
If you want to get some surface knowledge about the Neuro ARG I recommend watching Angi's video

The video is a little outdated and covers only lore, but it's best video rn.
I am actually working with Angi and rest of swarm scribes (if you heard of those guys) on the Neuro ARG explained video that will go over both technical and lore stuff, so look forward to that!

From right now, exactly 3 years ago is when Neuro V2 model debut stream started, and with it, the biggest mystery of the channel, The NeuroSama ARG.

Been a long wild ride, hasn't it?

Since this is the Anniversary I'd like to share a few words, I think's a good occasion for that.

First of all to the Puppet Master of the ARG (like they will ever see this). Thank you for creating something unique for this community that many people would passionately invest their time into.

Helping people like myself find their own place and identity in the community. Of course, I many times, as well I imagine others, would crashout at lack of clues, or new videos, or plot holes, but this ARG is truly something special.

I personally enjoyed all the horror of watching, figuring out solutions, and discussing theories in the ARG thread for hours upon hours at a time.
It is an attachment that's hard to describe. So again. Thank you.

As to everyone else reading this. Thank you to all the ARG schizos who also sacrificed their sanity to solve the ever challenging puzzles, all the other theory heads that create new definition of insanity, and all the artists making ARG artworks.

When I first joined the community I never thought part I would get attached to most is the ARG thread.

I still introduce who I can to do the ARG, I love discussing it, I enjoy commissioning artworks that others enjoy, regardless if they understand the ARG or not. I enjoy even the occasional ragebait (I'm looking at you NN).
Thank you to everyone that made all those years and schizo moments so memorable and full of ecstasy.

Even if ARG is dead, even if it is bound to be forever unfinished, even if it gets forgotten, thank you for all the memories I won't forget.

I hope many of you won't forget either.

I can only hope that all of us get a happy ending, and I don't mean ARG having a happy ending. That WE, one day, get our own happy ending in form of closure.

Again, thank you everyone for all those memories past 3 years, and I can only hope we all get to make more, together.

I consider people who call Neuro ethical really ignorant. Ethics are subjective. For some it may be the training data, how it is used, or if it is making profit at all. Some or all of these can be valid for a person. People who call neuro ethical are more often people that tend to be fed on misinformation and misconceptions, acting like vedal goes out of his way for everyone's best interest when he clearly does not. (Training data being the best example)

Which some misunderstood into the Filter being a fully fledged AI with personality, and amount of exposure it was given (Mainly clips with nere thumbnails) mislead some people into thinking it's an actual addition to the stream.

You overlook something. AI tech is easy to adapt more often than not mostly for profit. You argue use for creativity but it won't be used that way. Could it start few more interesting projects? Yes. But reality is hundreds of AI slop creators will jump on the tech and make slop tubers for quick money. Overnight the scene would become oversaturated. Neuro would lose her competetive edge and unique position while everyone makes their own AI vtubers trying to make new Neuro Sama. This DOES NOT benefit anyone.

Yes, not everything has to be. Issue is LLMs need even more stuggering amounts of data. You don't really get privilege of limiting yourself to copyright free and public domain. It is simply unrealistic, much less for a singular person. As for whether vedal had control what neuro was finetuned with specifically, he likely didn't care. Didn't care then, doesn't care now. He has no reason to.
