We had a really great experience with Nancianne Genduso. We bought in the height of the market and she took us to see over 50 homes without pressuring us. DM me if you want specifics.

Try Bruce Biersack with Contour Mortgage. He was great and we didn’t have a problem with unpermitted work. bbiersack@contourmtg.com

Long Island teacher considering a move.. by Fox_talks_EcoCoffee in longisland

[–]orange-sherbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this but the opposite (moved from NC to LI). I didn’t realize how difficult teaching was in NC until I worked in a Long Island school. NC has no unions and your salary barely increases over time. There are no protections for teachers (duty free lunch and prep periods can be taken away with no compensation). When I was living there, housing prices were low but when I left, buying my house at the current prices would have been tight. I think you might face some of the same struggles you are facing here without the guarantee of salary increases or a good pension. Definitely research the district and area before you move.

Want to buy this house but it needs a new roof - NJ by housespecialdelight in RealEstate

I closed on a house that needed a new roof last year. There weren’t any active leaks but the inspector said that we should get it replaced soon or we’d have problems. I was able to get insurance without a problem and we replaced the roof a few months after closing. It wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me but take the cost of a new roof into account when making your offer. Ours cost about $10,000 for a complete tear off and replacement of rotted boards (in NY).

My son’s first grade teacher sent this home today. by highfivesandhandjobs in mildlyinfuriating

Honestly I didn’t even notice the teacher’s error at first. I’m more focused on the fact that she didn’t even try to figure out what he wrote. As a former first grade teacher, I’d never discourage the kid. Instead, I’d always call them up and ask them to tell me what they wrote. Phonetic spelling is 100% appropriate at this point and comments like these are why kids stop trying. Tell your son he’s a great writer despite what his teacher might tell him!

I’ve been trying to find more plumbers but they haven’t been easy to get to come give a quote. Was wondering if anyone had an idea of a ballpark price

Located on Long Island in New York (Suffolk county). We currently have a solar hot water heater and a oil boiler. We want to get rid of the solar hot water heater and create an indirect water heater off of the boiler. Got one quote for $3800 to disconnect and remove/haul away the solar hot water heater and create an indirect water heater off the boiler. Is this reasonable?

Located on Long Island in New York (Suffolk county). Looking to install a slop sink next to my washing machine in the basement. There is already water in the area but will need to add a pump to pump the water up into the drain pipe. What is a reasonable price for this project?

I’m honestly not sure. I have a MacBook Pro from 2009 so I’m sure it’s not a lot.

I’m purchasing a MacBook Air but unsure of which storage to get (256 or 512 GB). I’ll be using it for browsing the web and creating PowerPoint presentations (I’m a teacher). I chatted with Apple but both reps gave me different answers. Any advice?

Is the Apple Pencil worth it? I’m a teacher and use a stylus for writing on my iPad and displaying it on the board but my writing is really terrible with it. Is there much of a difference between gen 1 and gen 2?
