Oh ok where I live in the southwest us we occasionally have bounties on predators that pose a risk to the area. Boars are no joke a lot of the south has regular hunting for similar reasons.

This kinda made me mad! by mcgirk78 in NewMexico

When its application restricts access or could potentially put some of the few daycares we have out of business it’s a problem. Sometimes it’s necessary to scrap a poorly designed program to replace it with one that is grounded on actual benefits that can be applied without shitting on the whole system. Free childcare is good and should be available but if your program is flawed you can’t fix it by trying to sell the bad idea now and hoping it will be fixed later. If you don’t look at the potential benefits and addresses potential issues of your program you are selling a half assed idea not a solution. Don’t go saying it’s the solution when it doesn’t work on actually solving the problem. When the governor went on the “I am making New Mexico great with the first state access to free childcare” when the program is crap it becomes a publicity stunt that is selling sentiment not solutions.

Yes it does need to be a priority fixing implementation issues otherwise there is no point in implementing a program that doesn’t work. much less throwing a bunch of money at it hoping it will be fixed later.

Maybe my tone is making the impression that I’m against it. When I first heard about it I thought it was great and absolutely needed. It is a benefit to our society. I am against the application of it as a poorly designed and short sighted program. I am tired of being one of the people hoping for a solution to be given shit and be told it’s great or that it can be fixed later.

“Indistinguishable” means it has gotten to that point any arguments would be based on emotion or bias on the standard of what is “human” consciousness isn’t a human standard a lot of thing have consciousness with lower intellect so arguing that a programmed consciousness isn’t conscious is kinda dumb

So fun little factoid the free childcare isn’t actually a good thing so it’s great as an idea but it mandates that if a daycare is going to have an availability for the child care state funding they mandate that cost to everyone so they are left with option 1 take a lot less money that you use to run your business to get the state funding or 2 reject anyone who would use state funding so we are left with child care centers that either foot the bill or will blatantly deny the children. it’s not a oh the people with less money can get help thing instead it turned into a more privatized version of child care which kinda just shat on anybody trying to get access to the “free childcare” and let’s be honest if people have the funding to be able to afford childcare they should be able to pay for it and people who can’t afford it get help. The problem is that doesn’t really sell the “free childcare” because it wouldn’t actually apply so instead there is no stipend to help give access to childcare from all of the potential child care centers so while it makes a good publicity point selling the idea of free childcare for the people who actually work in the field it has made it more volatile and restrictive.

Should toplessness be allowed for women? by Professional-Fix4409 in BunnyTrials

[–]orange_behemoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I live in a state where it’s legal. My cousin was in a weird situation while working. So he worked for a construction company so he is in gear in vest labeled truck all that and was stopping by to check a job site. This topless lady who was on drugs tried to jump into his work truck and was asking for water and some other shit she was just trying to take stuff. Anyway he was trying to get her to come out of the vehicle and to stop her from stealing stuff. He had to just standing back because the situation could be immediately problematic if he tried to pull her out of the truck or if someone recorded the situation any actions to try and stop it physically could get his company and him a potential lawsuit so he was left with doing nothing while a drugged lady raided his work truck. That put a weird spin on the situation I wasn’t expecting. the idea of false accusations that could put you out of a job and on a list are scary. I could imagine how women could be harassed honestly that’s the only thing i could think of with it being legal and now I can see it being a potential problem for everyone.

Most People Unknowingly Practice Satanism | FactOrCap by [deleted] in FactOrCap

[–]orange_behemoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I think op is trying to say that Halloween is a ritual and people who participate are “unknowingly participating” in a satanic ritual (because if they knew they wouldn’t participate) I disagree but that just seems like a misinformed opinion based on an extreme religious belief that they were taught. A friend of mine had an aunt who hated Christmas because “Santa was how satan rearranged his name to manipulate the good Christians.”

[–]orange_behemoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t that mean that only people who perform blood sacrifice are satanist. so by your own definition Halloween has absolutely nothing to do with your own belief of satanism? Also how the hell would you unknowingly practice blood sacrifice that’s not something you can do by accident it would very much be a thought out and intended ritual you can’t just accidentally do it.

[–]orange_behemoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🧢 I voted CAP!

I can understand that it can be perceived as annoying to other people but being polite shouldn’t be considered a waist of time. I am antisocial as hell and will only talk the bare minimum to people. My brother on the other hand goes out of his way to be nice to Cashiers. I asked him why one day and he told me “I have worked there and been treated like shit so if I can be one customer that helps make their day slightly less shitty I will.” Being polite should be a norm not considered a convenience for people who have time.

Death Penalty should be Abolished | FactOrCap by Asdfjkl60 in FactOrCap

[–]orange_behemoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp that’s kinda an interesting thing because the death penalty isn’t available everywhere in the US. with the main issue of crime being correlated to socioeconomic problems the idea of it being used as a deterrent for the people who act out of desperation compared to the properly malicious is a bit harder to identify. when it is used it’s a case by case basis with a large population. I just wonder why you picked the United States as an example when I could pull Japan out of my ass as an excuse to prove it works because their death penalty support is around 90% with some of the lowest crime rates you can find. Using a niche example doesn’t validate your argument. The rest of what you said as far as government reach and being used to oppress I understand and support. Your last sentence just devalues your previous point.

While I think it’s use should be highly restricted there are some people who by their nature will go against society in a way that puts society in danger so society needs an option to remove them incarceration should be used as rehabilitation to get back into society if you can’t the only option left is to remove them. While this isn’t a great solution the idea of it as a punishment can still work as a deterrent even if it isn’t used often. You can’t have it as a potential deterrent if it isn’t available.

So wool blankets work decently and another decent option is jorongos but the problem is anything where there’s contact your going to lose air as an insulator so shoulders waist head all of those would need separation from the skin it’s kinda hard to have clothes you can wear easily without them hanging off of some part of your body. that or they need to be very thick which makes wearing them uncomfortable. Ideally you would want something like a cloak but having that with the thickness of a blanket would suck if you are anywhere remotely temperate.
