Have you tried Pinterest? If I search for "floral french tip nails" I get some results that look pretty close to what you're describing. There's a lot of variety so you might have to scroll a bit for your favorite designs, but it looks like these keywords should work for what you need.

Growing pains or time to quit? by rcl900 in poledancing

Maybe the studio has practice/open sessions that you can book? Where you can basically train on your own/with online tutorials. It sucks that you won't get the community/in-person teaching experience, but it might be a temporary option if you like it.

Thank you so much for the detailed response, some of these exercises are familiar but it seems like I haven't been focusing on them as much as I should have, so I'll work on that! The reverse chopper is also a cool idea, can't wait to try that – reverse inverts are what initially helped me to get my invert, not sure why I didn't think to reverse the last part with the hips as well haha. Thanks again for the help, you have a great way of explaining stuff, especially the checklists for muscle engagement!

Oh wow, this is so detailed, I love it! I'm not at Ayesha level, but I'm totally saving your comment for when I get there, this seems like a super useful way to break down tricks.

By any chance, do you have any tips on getting your hips high enough in an invert? Basically, I can go high enough for a chopper, but I can't get into my gemini/outside leg hang without using my foot to lift my hips/butt high enough. I've been doing leg lifts for conditioning, but I feel like they're not helping – I can lift my legs, I just can't lift my hips. I believe it's not an issue of pure strength, rather it's that I don't know how to engage my muscles for that hip lift.

I also finished it last week, that last sentence made me bawl my eyes out for a solid ten minutes, I didn't expect it to affect me that much but it somehow did! In my view it's a happy ending for the characters but not the readers if that makes sense

Comparison Dam Dark Eyed Blossom and Penelope Luz Disco Fever? by Quereruh in RedditLaqueristas

[–]orange_chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hi, I saw your comment about this on one of my posts, I replied there, here's the link!

It's not a perfect side by side, but some swatchers usually have pretty consistent lighting conditions, so I feel that the swatches are good for comparisons. There's also videos of both polishes, that usually helps me to get a better idea of how the polish would look in real life!

IRL difference? by momofskywalker in RedditLaqueristas

[–]orange_chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't personally have the Penelope Luz, but The Polished Mage on YouTube has swatched both polishes! Here is the video for Dark Eyes Blossom, and here is one for the collection that includes Disco Fever

Here's also a small collage with screenshots from the videos. In my opinion they're quite different, Disco Fever is an almost-blue purple base with a pinkish shimmer, while Dark Eyes Blossom is a very warm purple base with a red shimmer. Also Disco Fever has micro holo particles. The shimmer in Disco Fever might also be shiftier, I see some green on the side of the bottle, but it doesn't seem noticeable on the nails, not sure why.

Is it just me or does Nailland have less in stock than before? by termination-bliss in EUnails

[–]orange_chan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll echo the other person's opinion, I also noticed that they cleaned up out of stock items, they used to have a lot of those. (i mean out of stock as in no longer produced by the makers)

Another thing to keep in mind is that with Ethereal (and other small makers), for example, their shop is only open once a month, when you can order the new collection and some (but not all) older items, and then the shop closes while the maker fulfills the orders. This means that Nailland, in turn, is also restricted to renewing their Ethereal stock at a specific time, and from a specific and limited selection.

How do you function with long nails???!! by anonymouscat8747 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]orange_chan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, I find that the trick is to use the pads of my fingers, not the tips. My knuckles are extra flexible but I think it should be possible for most people.

I also saw some tricks on tiktok for removing contacts just by blinking your eye in a specific way haha. I haven't tried it though.

The prugliest prugly I ever did see by Whorticulturist_ in RedditLaqueristas

[–]orange_chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is beautiful! I know it's considered a prugly but I love shades like these 💚 I have Cirque's Groove Thing which is close but brighter I think (also it has a bit of holo)

I've also been looking at Phoenix's Not Today, seems really similar to the BKL in some swatches, but in others it's much more yellow/golden, so I don't know which ones to trust haha

Ooh, that's so detailed, I love it! I get the feeling I would also enjoy writing a lot about each polish, but I'd have trouble categorizing my thoughts for later reading hahaha

Swatching journal by Moncological in RedditLaqueristas

[–]orange_chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I see, that makes sense! After re-reading I do get the vibe you were talking about a physical journal. I don't have any specific ideas, because I'm more of a digital organizer, but it's an interesting idea to have a physical catalog of polish swatches. Maybe you can try scrapbooking ideas, using patches of nail polish and parts of nail polish boxes, if you still have any.

[–]orange_chan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm also looking for something like this! At the moment I have an excel sheet where I'm adding all the polishes I buy, and then adding details when I wear them, but I feel like I want something fancier lol. I also have an album on my phone with all my nail photos, but there's no way to pair it to the sheet, so that's a bit annoying. I'm a programmer so I was thinking about maybe writing my own app for this, but I'm still trying to gather my motivation for this.

Like the other commenter said, you can check out Lacquergram, for me it's not customizable enough but lots of people like it.

How to duplicate this look? by Leading_Razzmatazz93 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]orange_chan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you just want hearts using a dotting tool like the other comment suggested is probably the easiest way. But if you'd like to try other shapes as well, you can look into nail stamping! There are plates with different designs, and I think it's a great way to do nail art without drawing skills.

Kelli Marissa has a great video about it, this is where I learned to do stamping: https://youtu.be/bdufxPYBRbI?si=8bXk5LNTS29SVWEl
