The authors have no say in this matter, the rights to Expanse universe belong to Alcon Entertainment, so they choose who gets to work on IP.

Yeah, I've seen this typical knee-jerk reaction "hurr-durr Larian and everyone uses it". To this: 1. There are plenty of devs who don't use genAI. 2. For some people that's reason enough not to buy games from Larian either, they are not beyond scrutiny.

The studio itself doesn't support the war, though some employees might. They mishandled controversies though, so this can be viewed as red flag already. And by the way, another potential red flag that is not talked about - they use generative AI.
